Mark Andrews vs. Tony Nese
This is fine, I don't care for either man but issa solid watch. They do a lot of that new indy style lots of counters and complicated sequences. Nese uses his power to wear Andrews down, it's not great but neither is Tony. He does stuff to pass time, Mark sucks ass at selling as usual but he bumps well. Mark hits the Rey wheelbarrow into the bulldog to start a comeback and follows up with big spots for near falls. The match ends when Tony goes for the one arm sitdown powerbomb but Mark rolls through and hits the double stomp for two, Tony then goes for a pump handle but Mark counters it into a stunner and hits the SSP for the win. **1/4
After the match, Drake books Drew vs. Mark for next week.
Earlier Today, 205 GM Drake Maverick sat down with both Mustafa and Cedric. Cedric says it's crazy that just a year ago the both of them sat down together in Orlando in a skybox and watched WM. Ali says it's wild and special. Drake aks if their journey would lead to this. Cedric says it's crazy, they will have friends and family watch them live. He will even have his daughter in the crowd watch as he wins the title, Ali says that's not how the "STORY" usually ends. He usually wins, and he loves his story but the problem is his pen usually runs out of ink. He has a kid of his own, and after they get done tearing the house down. HE will be the one to walk away as champion. Cedric says he's willing to put his body on the line and stomp the heart of 205 to become champion, he will do it. Ali says that's what he has to do to win.
Fatal 4-Way #1 Contenders Match: Kalisto vs. Akira Tozawa vs. TJP vs. Buddy Murphy
Really good stuff here jam-packed with action from bell to bell, TJP being the dumb heel joins forces with Buddy just to turn on him in 3.9 seconds later. Everyone gets a spotlight run on offense, Buddy's resurgence has been incredible. I do like that Tozawa and Kalisto are building off their tag team feud so they keep trying to one-up the other and refuse to get on the same page to benefit themselves. Everyone hits a big dive, Awesome spot that I've never seen before, TJP has Kalisto up in the bow/arrow surfboard hold, Buddy then sneaks into the ring and tries to cover TJ. But as that is going on Tozawa comes off the top with a back senton and breaks everything up. Tozawa covers Buddy by only gets two. The match ends minutes later when Kalisto and Tozawa argue over getting a pin, but Buddy takes them both out. TJ locks in the kneebar but Kalisto and Tozawa PULL him off. Murphy then wipes them both out with a corkscrew plancha to the floor and hits Murphy's Law on TJP for the win. **3/4
