Recently released WWE star Elijah Burke had a long talk with TNA Director of Talent Relations Terry Taylor right after a wrestling convention on 12/6. Burke collaborates this tidbit in a recent blog, noting he enjoyed a long and enjoyable conversation with Taylor, but was worried that he wouldn't be old enough to get a Main Event spot in TNA. This took place at the same convention in which Burke was seen locking lips with TNA Knockout SoCal Val.
I dunno how I feel about this, who wants to place bets on how long it'll take for an on debut push to end and Elijah to dwindle in the lower card for the remainder of his time with TNA?

He owns. But he doesn't have a whole lot of star power so he probably will debut with a new name in the X-Division away from the MEM stuff. I really hope they don't give him some imitation gimmick though, that would suck.

^Well...you're talking about TNA, so of course he'll have a imitation gimmick....brother >_>

He will team with Lethal and be the Black Machismo's imo.

Or with/against Creed, as he is an Apollo Creed ripoff, and Burke is known as a boxer etc etc.

they'll probably give him the X division belt after like 2 weeks.

I think this would be good for him. I like the guy, didn't see anything wrong with him in WWE. Don't know why they gave up on him. He would have fit in good with the new young talent they're pulling in. But in TNA I hope he wouldn't come in wrestle for awhile and then get lost in shuffle. He'd be good in the X-Division and work his way up to the Mid-card and then ME.

I surely hope not. They need to build him up 1st. TNA does a bad job with that with some, hopefully he wont be another.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a rip off. Calling that a rip off is pretty much calling all gimmics rip-offs. Hogan was a ripoff of a hero, Austin was a ripoff of a disgruntle employee who hated his boss, Golddust was a ripoff of a homosexual, Undertaker is a ripoff of the grimm reaper, John Cena a Vanilla Ice/Eminem ripoff, etc etc. Having a boxer type gimmic would be good as it would fit his previous amature boxing background though.

I think you keep him away from the X Division but put him in a big time feud. Like have him cost AJ Styles/Samoa Joe the TNA Championship. (Not involoved in the MEM). And see how he gets over/quality of his matches with some of these guys and build him to the mainevent. I always thought Elijah could win the WWE Championship and was shocked that he got released.

Well thats WWE big loss and a real big gain for TNA. Burke was good he has good in ring skills good mic skills and connected with the fans. Im gutted WWE let him go he had some good potential. Hope the utilise his talents better in TNA.
