Former TNA stars The Young Bucks and Frankie Kazarian have reportedly turned down deals for the El Rey Network’s new Lucha Underground series with Mexico’s AAA promotion.

Other names offered deals include Ezekiel Jackson, Maxine and Savannah, all former WWE talents. Word is that today was the last day for talents who were offered deals to sign them.

Chavo Guerrero will be working in a backstage role for the series and will be performing but at last word, he had not signed a deal yet.

Some talents have been hesitant to sign the deals because of the length of exclusivity, the lack of guaranteed pay and the inability to work indies without approval from Lucha Underground officials.

Regarding pay, some talents have been offered $750 per match while others, who could be considered top indie stars, were only offered $200 per match.

Maxine's hot, don't know the other chick.

and Zeke? Not sure he would be accepted by the american wrestling fan who wants some "authentic Lucha Libre".

Chavo seems like a good pickup, he worked backstage in TNA before they realized they were overpaying him and he does have experience producing other shows.

I would think Kaz and company would work for JJ over Konnan

Pretty sure they are in ROH with a shitty tag name, and I seriously doubt Jarretts shit is starting anytime soon or even next year.

I could see JJ being the guy to settle for a network like velocity or even ion, something small at first, which is why he will start up IMO before the end of the year or right for next springs debut season,

As for more on lucha underground
Lots of talk regarding the contracts offered by the El Rey Network for the Lucha Underground promotion. As a group, several of the wrestlers offered contracts have contacted Andre Verdun, a San Diego lawyer to represent them in negotiations. There was fear of a lot of wording in the contracts for seven seasons, and require the promotion to clear wrestlers for any dates outside of the promotion, as well as a long non-compete period. One person close to the situation told us that the contracts sent "are so laughable my pen ran out of red ink trying to redline it."
