Edge & Umaga...More than meets the eye?

Unless, maybe Edge comes in, interferes and gives Punk a DQ win or maybe even possibly Umaga a clean win, and then enlists Umaga to help him retain his belt after possibly getting Umaga the IC title.

Much like he promised Hawkins & Ryder to get them the tag titles, but better.

Bearing in mind we got 'Extreme Rules' a few weeks after JDay, I envisage Punk v Umaga in a hardcore match of some kind, so I think a jobber-type loss for Umaga on Sunday is far from innevitable.

Should be interesting as I don't see Edge interfering... Umaga has nothing to lose in this match and Edge has nothing to gain.

I really hope we see Umaga in some kind of 'enforcer' role for Edge, as the characters complement each other perfectly. Instead of using Vickie for leverage, Edge can use Umaga to do all his dirty work as previously mentioned. That way Edge gets his heat and Umaga gets his ring time.

^^^^That's the thing man.... It WOULD get Umaga a hefty amount of TV time and as previously mentioned could set him up for a Taker fued and also sew seeds for an eventual face turn for him if they decide upon that route (typical 'brains pushes the brawn too far' storyline).

+ It would be a damn sight better than him settling straight back into the rent-a-monster jobbing role he found himself in during the latter part of his Raw run.

(Random thought.... Face Umaga vs Heel Jericho would be the shit if they pull the face-turn off nicely!)

The only problem is keeping Umaga going as a face, his non-speaking role keeps him pretty limited in that department. But then again, there's bee a lot of guys who stay over thanks to just in-ring ability and little else.

It's a mighty shame Umaga couldn't have been added to La Familia somehow in 08, with Edge 'going to hell' it would've been mighty fine to see Vickie throwing Umaga at the Undertaker in a bid at Vengeance.

As for his mic skills... Batista seems to do alright and at least Umaga sounds convincing when he rants in Samoan! : P


As much as I'd like to see Umaga MEvent, if it's gonna result in a mere 6month shelf life for him, I'd rather they just leave him to be a kick ass mid-carder that can hang with the big boys when necessary... I think he'd do ok as a face at that level.

(I can picture the fans going nuts at Umaga turning on Edge and that could serve up enough momentum to springboard a succesful face-turn.)

I really wanna weep reading all this...lol.
I hate how people think that Edge needs someone to do his bidding or someone to gain leverage off of in order to gain heat. The guys is a fuckin heat machine as soon as he opens his mouth. I'm really tired of seeing Edge chained to someone and acting like a little bitch. If they're going to put anyone with Edge it should simply be some arm candy...much like Lita. Someone who can gain him heat, and at the same time still have him seem independant. Don't forget, this Edge/Vicky thing STIIIIILL (omfg) is not over yet. When it is called back into play I'm honestly thinking we'll see Edge turning face off whatever transpires with that, with Jericho taking the reigns as top heel on Smackdown.

Going to have to go with Dark Knight on this one in the way of them mentioning the call to Vickie. I knew "Youmanga" (gotta give props to Regal there) was Edge's hired hit the moment I saw him return because of said segment where Edge said "Excuse me, I have to go call my wife." Coincidence? Nah.

Of course he's his hired gun. Every time Punk is on the verge of cashing in U-man-ga attacks? Pretty obvious. All I'm saying is that I hope it's simply revealed then left alone and the two aren't paired up in the long run.
