It’s entirely possible that he said that in character, who knows.

Whatever we can argue about this all day. I know that every time I bring up a point you have an inclination to bring up other shit to refute me. All I know is I’ve heard from a million different videos that a lot of the attitude era stars were successful because they were allowed to be themselves. If you think that’s wrong then fine.

Point being, I’m glad Edge is back full time and I wish that other stars would do the same thing. I think it’s disrespectful to the business to come back whenever the fuck you want no matter how over you were in the past. That’s how I feel. Get over it.

“They were being themselves” is WWE revisionist history

Dwayne Johnson isn’t so arrogant that he refers to himself in the 3rd person

Mick Foley doesn’t dwell in boiler rooms

Steve Williams doesn’t cause vehicular destruction

AL Snow doesn’t talk to a head

They were characters far from the real person simply performed freely but they still followed scripts/bullet points and storylines.

The only difference is that Russo wrote great characters and didn’t write verbiage verbatim, other than that everything was scripted.

Scripts aren’t the problem, bad scripts and untalented performers are the problems

You mean to tell me WWE is fake?

Yes, which refutes your claims that they were just being themselves on TV. They are actors.

Dwyane Johnson really isn’t The Rock just like Robert Downey Jr really isn’t Tony Stark.

Sure they put their own twists on the character and performed it, but someone else wrote the character, someone else wrote the storylines.

It’s ok though, I don’t hold it against you, WWE has been putting out revisionist history so long that people accept it as common fact because they pounded in our heads.

Oh wow I’m glad I have your pity. Can’t tell you how happy I am. Being yourself has an extended meaning. Obviously they’re actors but there’s a difference between playing a character you’re comfortable with and getting to shine rather than being forced into something that’s not who you are at all.

Obviously the storylines are written but a lot of times the superstars were giving their input.

They're not actors....they're performers.
