I mean, tons of artists remake old songs all the time. One of my favorite Hendrix songs is a Bob Dylan cover.

I see what he means now. Zep copied a few licks/lyrics from Muddy Waters and stuff.

But here's the thing. Blues artists copies off each other all the time. I mean shit, one of Aerosmiths biggest songs main riff is from an old Taj Mahal song. Didn't get sued at all. Infact, I believe he thanked them for giving it new light.

Lyrics are pretty typical in all blues music too. "Oh well I lost this girl", "she loved me a lot", etc. Well actually, typical in all music when I really think of it.

Jimmy Page is still second to Hendrix in the innovative department. Zeppy, Deep Purple and Aerosmith made Hard Rock.
