Backstory: After 5 years away from national television, ECW was coming back as the third brand of the WWE. However, the mystery surrounding it was where was a Championship going to come from. Well just 2 days from their television re-debut, ECW presented One Night Stand, featuring two Championship matches. Rob van Dam challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship and Sabu challenging Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship.​
