So did I get this straight? It's a 16 man tournament of 8 former ECW stars and 8 current ECW stars?

Let's see...

John Morrison
CM Punk
Miz
Jack Swagger
Evan Bourne
Kofi Kingston
Kane

and...

Sheamus.

Which brings me to this conclusion. Since we all know ECW is going down in 2010 right? Sheamus wins this tournament as WWE Champ and unifies his belt with Christian's belt thus killing ECW as a brand without a champion. Also it makes Sheamus looks beastly. It also keeps Cena away from the belt longer to further his typical Cena Superman Undefeated Streak Angle. He can also go into the Rumble saying he won't lose. Just thinking out loud. What do you think about the Homecoming tournament?

I thought they were just previous ECW champs, not superstars.

^Cool idea but I think they're more going to use it as an excuse to bring back an ECW talent which they regret letting go. Don't forget that ECW is most likely just going to be renamed so by the time this ends we may not be crowning a new ECW champion, but a new ??? champion.

Sheamus 'killing' ECW would be a great way to put him over big, but would there be a way for Christian to win and somehow get the WWE Championship anyway? Bah, that's silly anyway.

Yeah it's only former champions. =/

Lets see...

Morrison
Matt Hardy
Mark Henry
Chavo
Swagger
Punk
Kane

There's 8 so you don't have to worry about anything cool happening like a re-debut or anything.

ECW Homecoming announcement (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Tiffany announced an exciting, new concept that will determine who receives the next ECW Championship Match. Throughout the next four weeks, the ECW General Manager will invite former ECW Superstars to compete with current ECW Superstars in The ECW Homecoming. Sixteen Superstars will compete one-on-one and eight will advance to The Homecoming Finale, featuring an Over-the-Top Rope Challenge on the Jan. 12 edition of ECW on Syfy. The winner of the Challenge will receive an ECW Title Match against Christian at Royal Rumble!

Christian better still be in the Rumble. I'll blow a gasket if he's not.

Sorry Peeps, they said Christian defends the belt at the Rumble. I doubt he'll lose it before then. If he's in a title match he won't be in the Rumble.

CHRISTIAN/BOURNE, PLZ~!

No, but really, Bourne isn't really doing anything right now. It would give Christian an awesome match, which is really all they seem to be doing with him right now, and it would give Bourne a good jump-start to his stalling momentum. Even if he loses, he could have a really great showing, and use that to propel himself into the US Title scene.

This could be the answer to that teasing of Punk vs. Christian a couple weeks back. They want to throw Punk in front of a bus anyways, they could throw him back in ECW.

Huh, Tiff said champions only on TV. But I dunno what to think about this anyway. My guys still seem pretty likely tbh. Maybe Finlay or Bourne or Kofi.

Considering Chavo Guerrero was champion back when he had the belt and he was also in the Royal Rumble that year, I sincerely doubt WWE cares whether or not the ECW Champion is in the Rumble match.

Better idea. Christian coaxes Sheamus to put the WWE title on the line too (we know how much of a master of persuasion that he is). Then Christian wins the WWE title and unifies them! Thus still killing ECW and accomplishing the same thing for a much greater cause. amirite?? Good idea???
