So it is Good Friday right now and so it is the beginning of the Easter weekend.

Easter to me now means a nice long weekend, this year it is even longer due to ANZAC day as well. I am not religious so I don't go to church and with gifts we just spend $20 on each other and buy a book, DVD or something like that.

What does everyone on the forum do for Easter? Do you do things with your family? Do you hang out with friends? Do you do gifts? Do you go to church?

What does easter mean to you?

I'll honestly never understand what the whole story behind Easter, because I know it has something to do with Jesus rising from the gave after the third day of crucifixion. However, I'm not entirely sure what a bunny sh*ting chocolate eggs have to do with the "holiday." Anyways its Good Friday, so I am happy that I have the day to myself and have the opportunity to sit down and relax the entire day.

I haven't celebrated Easter in years, but thats because I'm usually busy with other things. This year I'm probably going to be stuck on the computer all week, because I have an essay to write and it's due in a matter of days. Happy Easter! :)

"The egg is seen by followers of Christianity as a symbol of ressurection: while being dormant it contains a new life sealed within it."

That is what I got from wiki. The chocolate part would have been added in the 20th century when manufacturers realised they could cash in on this holiday.

I went to an Anglican school so every year we would have to recreate the story of Easter. There would be a play and we would spend half a day talking about Jesus and what he went through. Was never fun except for the fact it got us out of class.

I'm not celebrating Easter. I'm not religious in any form really, although my dad may go to church, that's about it.

Don't do anything special normally, but do tend to get my mum and friends a Easter Egg I do enjoy that part of it. I also do like the hoilday as they have guilty pleasure like films on TV and drag out those huge 100 best of lists on TV. Anyway this weekend I am meeting up with a friend in London which should be good.

I just treat it like any other day, I'm an atheist so the holiday doesn't mean anything for me. I just try look for something that doesn't have to deal with Jesus on TV. Also Canada has Easter Monday, does any other country have that?

Yeah we have Easter Monday as well but this year because that and ANZAC day fall on the same day the monday is ANZAC day and we get Easter Tuesday on the tuesday. So a five day weekend just to ensure we don't miss out on a day off.

In like some churches they say like Easter is for failures and what not. I do not celebrate anymore, but I do go see other family members. My easter present was UFC 129 for next week so I thank my parents for wanting to buy that event. Pretty happy because now I can just buy the food for the event. So that is good.
