In a Movie about Power, Love, and Destiny I feel this Movie had all the right tones to it with Part 1 of Dune. I do wonder if enough people who doesn't know the Story like I do will watch this as well as understand what is going on and seeing throughout. I do see Award Nominees coming for them when it comes to Set Design, Costume Design just to name a few to go with their Stellar Cast. I really enjoyed the 2nd Half of this Film especially that Ending it's time for Paul to embrace his destiny and that whole Scene is a big moment for him in claiming it.

I might rewatch it for the 4K experience on HBO Max bc its probably worth it but the download I had was pretty fucking great in its own right. I was gonna wait but with so much wrestling and stuff this weekend I went ahead and watched the download lmao

I don't know shit about the book and I didn't have any trouble following along. They spent a lot of early time explaining the world pretty well, maybe even too much for some idk lol there were a lot of mysterious still and some stuff that I felt like I was supposed to not completely get as well though, mostly from the mom's side of the family and shit lol

I watched the original David Lynch film the other day and I could not get into it at all, so hopefully this remake is better than that.

Never seen it to give you a comparison. It adapted the whole book though right? And it's shorter than this one so they're probably a good bit different

I haven’t read the book either but from what I read about the film is that Lynch tried to adapt the whole book, which explains why the original is so long and it drags lol.

I've seen both versions and I can honestly say the 2021 version is a way better watch for me. I remember when I saw the original and 30 minutes into the Film I was going into Nap mode and that rarely happens for me when I watch a Movie or Show. I said to myself let me try this again the next day and second time around I understood things way more. It's alot to digest but this Film held our hands and made us understand what is the Story going vs the original where I was lost and wondering if I was high or not and I don't do drugs.

So like is that good or not since it's also on HBO? I'd guess they got money from HBO up front so we'll never know tho

I believe to break even you have to make double what your budget is. The studio was only projecting 30-35 million dollars for the first week. So I believe so far it's a win. It depends on how much it holds up over the next few weeks. International numbers are always tricky to I've heard, so a lot weighs on American domestic numbers.

Still haven't seen this yet, but the demand for this movie has been pretty high. Since Necro posted the last box office gross, it's sitting at over $368 million worldwide now.

Returning to Imax on December 3rd.
