Drew/Undertaker health updates

-- Drew McIntyre appeared fine at last night's SmackDown!/ECW live event in Hammond, Indiana after reportedly suffering a dislocated patella during his match at last Tuesday's SmackDown! taping. It was announced this past Friday on SmackDown! that McIntyre will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against John Morrison in a No Disqualification Match on this week's show.

-- The Undertaker was hurting badly at WWE house show events last weekend. The hip surgery Undertaker had last year was considered the last hope before getting a full hip replacement. The belief at this point is that his appearances will become more and more limited after WrestleMania 26 this year. Keep in mind that this kind of belief or discussion has been taking place in WWE for the last 10 years meaning he has been working that long in pain.

Good to hear it was nothing serious with Drew. I know my friend did the same and said he was sore for months though...gotta suck.

And Undertaker...really buddy? Before something ridiculous happens like you breaking your hip IN THE RING....hang it up.

Nice to know Drew's fine to defend his belt.. Hope it doesn't bother him in the future though.. Looking forward to that no DQ match with Morrison as well..

Got to agree, Taker has to hang up the boots before he seriously breaks that hip.. (knocks on wood..) Retire while he can still stand on his own two feet..

There is a thin line between working with the pain and just being ridiculously stubborn about retiring. This is more than likely going to be a gateway for him developing an addiction to PKs for the rest of his life.

The reason why guys like Flair, Undertaker, HBK and co are sticking around so long imo is that they have such a deep respect for Vince making them household names, they won't go until they see fit replacements to continue on the name of WWE. That's the way I see it.

That and love for the immense amount of money it's making them. Undertaker just reminds me of a tough BAMF who wouldn't admit he was hurt if his arm were hanging off. I'm sure with him it's a pride issue and honestly no matter how many reports we here about him it really hasn't affected his in ring work to any visible extent. I'm just hoping he knows when to bow out in terms of his health. I don't wanna see the guy crippled.

Great to see that Drew is alright, I still stay take it easy for a few weeks because he's definitely gotta be a top 3 name to win MITB if they continue the trend of a young, over guy winning it.

Taker is just well Taker, it's been like this for so long but it's what he wants to do and nobody can stop him. I'm surprised he hasn't asked for a gimmick change to the American Badass so he can at least ride a bike to and from the ring.

I would imagine if his hip is as bad as they say it is riding a bike is probably murder on him.

They would have been making megabucks for at least 15 years now, so I doubt that's a driving factor.

Don't forget there guys don't retire with pensions. I'm sure they've created quite the life styles for themselves by this point so making as much as you can before getting out wouldn't be a bad idea.
Although I'm pretty sure Undertaker also owns a pretty successful real estate company.

Shawn Michaels would be a brilliant guy to have around marketing your next show/PPV or special event. Undertaker, not so much, but I'm sure he could do something.

Vince never, ever made Flair a household name. Flair was a household name ten years before he got to the WWF. Dude still works because he has a shit load of alimony and child support payments to make to his like ten ex wives, plus he lived the Nature Boy gimmick and partied away alot of the money he made when he was the NWA meal ticket. He's broke. Loan companies have liens on all of his memorabilia including an NWA world title he tried selling on Highspots. Poor bastard. Either way it has nothing to do with what Vince did for him.

Yeah, little things. The feud with Punk could also be attributed to the rumors him not being too fond of the guy as well. But let's face it, he still move around quite well and takes his fair share of bumps for someone always rumored to be breaking down.

See why don't they just take him off house shows or limit it to sporadic appearances? It would make it more special when he shows up and he won't end up like Dynamite Kid.

Well, they apparently don't see that as a viable option or they wouldn't still be putting the title on him for months at a time.
