It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, but Namco Bandai is readying a sequel for Dragon Ball Raging Blast. Even less of a surprise is the name: Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2.

Announced via this week's issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, the Xbox 360 and PS3 sequel promises over 90 characters -- twenty more than the original. Visuals are seeing improvements, with more detailed character models, facial expressions that change depending on the situation, and more expansive fighting worlds.

You can get your first look at Raging Blast 2 via the newly opened official site. The site is in a teaser state, but there are a couple of thumbnail-sized screens in there (which we've copied to our media gallery).

Japan gets Raging Blast 2 later this year. Releases outside Japan haven't been announced, but are inevitable.

So about that Burst Limit 2? What happened with that? It had far less characters but the graphics were a lot better. It looked like a fucking DBZ cartoon. It sold more so it's kind of strange how it's not getting a sequel.

Well Tenkaichi 3 is my all time favorite game which the Raging Blast developers made so hopefully it's closer to it's standards this time. Really though no Burst Limit 2? I would get them both.

Well DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is my all time favorite fighting game. So many characters and it really captures the fighting from DBZ.

Then Burst Limit is special because it looks like you're playing DBZ in the cartoons. They really nailed the visuals.

Raging Blast has the advantage of far more characters and overall a better DBZ fighting game.

Well the action is fast paced. Street Fighter is really the only series that compares due to it's fast past itself. I've played Marvel vs. Capcom 2 which is in the same style as SF and I'm not a big fan of it. In the DBZ games the maps are huge giving you lots of room just like in the cartoon where they fight in huge open areas. You can fight in the air, water, or on the ground just like in DBZ. You can fight in close combat or fire shots from far away. You have all types of combos and super attacks. It's just a damn good fighting series that's addicting. Now with these new games you can play online obviously due to the whole next gen online requirement.

I thought Tenkaichi 2 was better than 3. But after I play all the Budikai games as well as all the Tenkaichi games, I finished with DBZ games. There's not much you can do after you beat all of them.

How? 3 had way more characters and attacks. Plus savable battles.

Yeah, but they had characters you didn't even need. By that point, it was pointless nobodies. They had Frieza's punk ass henchmen on there. Those guys that were fighting Bardock in space when he was trying to kill Frieza.

They had numerous levels of the same people on there. Goku at the start of DBZ, Goku after he trained with the North Kai, Goku, when he turned SS, Goku when he returned to earth after fighting Frieza, Goku when he trained in the Time Chamber, Halo Goku, SS3 Goku, SS4 Goku, Kid Goku, Goku when he was turned back into a kid. And those are all different characters. I may have added some forms in (haven't played the game in years) but still, the forms he had in the 2nd game was enough.

Then there's one's they added from Dragon Ball. That little android girl, Devilman, Tambarine, Chi-Chi, Andriod 8. I think they even had Namu and Spapavitch (the 2 guys who drained Gohan during the Buu saga) Out of memory, the only one's that were needed were King Vageta, Nail, Babadi, and the Nouva Shenron.

Yep, fuck yes, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will forever be the best. It was so god damn awesome. Raging Blast basically copied it but with less diversity, less characters, etc. so it was a let down. It was like a gimped BT 3 even though it was newer. Burst Limit was a piece of shit, why would they make another one? Seriously, terrible.

They can't really copy it if they were the ones who made Tenkaichi 3 lol. How can you hate Burst Limit? Sure it's roster was pathetic but it's easily the best looking DBZ game and the combat was pretty good, different from the Budokai series for a change.

On another note. I'm not sure if you're all aware but there are two different DBZ developers. There is Dimps who made the original Budokai series and Burst Limit. Then there is Spike who made the Tenkaichi series and now the Raging Blast series. DBZ Budokai 3 was amazing it's vastly different from the other games but Tenkaichi 3 is the very best.

Copying =/= rip off. I wasn't saying they ripped it off, but why the fuck should I buy Raging Blast if we have BT 3 with the same + better? What...? I highly disagree.. Raging Blast had WAY better visuals and effects. You may have a case for the avatars alone (although I liked Raging Blast's still), but the scenery and environment? Raging Blast blows it away in those two aspects, and the fact that you can't do jack shit in Burst Limit, the transformations are lame, there's no real combat diversity, etc.
