WWF Superstars of Wrestling
September 10th, 1988
Providence, RI

Match#1 The British Bulldogs vs Gene Ligon & Rusty Riddle

Davey is once again a force of fire and nature as he's moving SO well and kicking all the ass, and i wish he was a single guy at this point because god it would rock. DK is fine is tiny bursts, so good for him. Demo have a cut in saying Fuji has demanded they take them out for good. DK wins with the Superplex.
*1/2

WWF Update-
-Mean Gene covers the happenings between Hammer and Muraco.
-Hammer says he's going to take him to the ends of the earth to hurt him.
-Don says he accepts nothing but unconditional surrender.

Match#2 The Big Boss Man w/Slick vs Paul Vandello
More short but fantastic action from the Boss (the real one. Fuck Springsteen) for 90 seconds of wonderful beating and law breaking. He wins with the Slam after treating the kid like a piece of a shit.
*

Post match, he cuffs and beats the kid.

Match#3 Tito Santana vs Trent Knight
Hell yeah, Tito gets more singles work and kills it because he's the best ever. Killer arm work and body shots for a couple of minutes, and he wins with the Forearm.
*1/2

WWF Events Center-
-Hacksaw shouts 2x4 over and over as he shows off the new toy one all the kids can buy so they can have one just like him. He says if a nasty smelling giant comes down to the ring, he's gotta beat them all no matter how tough he is. He's knocked him out once, and he's going to do it again and keep coming. TOUGH GUY HOOOOOOOOO.
-Terry Taylor introduces himself as the best wrestler in the world and "Scary Taylor" and it feels very phoney and bad. Not that he deserves his fate, but you can see why WWF figured it would be better if he had a gimmick that might get people to care about.
-
_kgsRg3j17i7N5tX.jpg

-HOLY SHIT. He says Tunney is hard to find since he put this war bonnet on because he knew it could hunt him down and bust his chops any time it wanted. He is declaring war on Jack Tunney and the whole WWF, man. HE WAS THE GREATEST WORLD CHAMPION THERE EVER WAS OR WILL BE, BAR NONE AND UNTIL SOMEONE BEATS HIM FOR A 3 COUNT YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE HIS MIND. Everyone from DiBiase to Andre to the Studds, Bundy's, Hercules and Heenans, and whoever else, they all know Hulk Hogan rules. He's on the warpath and he's afraid those dudes might run out of the gas, so he brings on a motorcycle gas tank with Hulkster painted on it as he says it's 5 gallons with Hulkster python power and mineral water from MARS, and he's going to stick the tank down their throats ( and he starts sucking out of the hose connected to it) as he says he's going to give them a double dose to get to where he is so he can dose them with Hulkamania. He says on his back in a California licensee plate with Hulkster inscribed on it, and yep he turns around and it's right there on his back like it's a normal thing he walks around with. This will be the last thing they see when he leaves. He doesn't want any excuses like they were ran over with a mack truck or like a 747 veered off course and crashed on you. He wants them to know he did it. What are going to do when the Hulkster and the largest arms in the world run wild on you.
-JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

Ken Patera eats an ice cream bar.

Match#4 Ron Bass vs Joe Cruise
Fine little outing for Bass as he's angry and grumpy now, and takes it on the poor, poor kid in front of him with a nice beating. He wins with the Pedigree.
*

Bass chokes him out for the hell of it.

Match#5 Honky Tonk Man w/Jimmy Hart vs Dave Lanning
HTM is introduced as the former champ and is not pleased about it. Also, it's super weird seeing him without the title, but man is it a nice sight to see it finally off him. He has a cut in saying last week was a tune up, and its nothing compared to what he's going to do next. This is a good angry HTM squash as his strikes look hard and good, and he does a good job being a bully whose lost everything that makes him. He wins with SRR.
*1/2

Post match, he gets the mic and promises to get the belt back for all his fans.

Match#6 The Hart Foundation vs Tony Ulysses & Len Kruger
The boys get 3 minutes and smash it out of the park with another fantastic babyface squash of violence and sick and smooth mat work. A true perfect duo, and i trust no one who doesn't adore them. The Rougeau's have a cut in saying they have a surprise for the Harts next week! HF beat the dog shit out of the kids and win with another sick looking Hart Attack.
**

WWF Events Center-
-They replay New's promo from the last update.
-Bobby says King Haku's reign will come to life when he takes care of Hulk Hogan. He took out Harley Race and stopped him from making a livelihood, and he's going to pay for it. Bobby says all the so called tough guys can step up as well as Haku is ready. Randy Savage should be worried as well because the king wants some gold around his waist.

WWF Boston Gardens-10/9

Match#1 The Blue Angel vs Barry Horowitz
Wooo, match number 3 for our guys. Weird moment as the commentators are calling Owen "Blazer" but he's still be introduced as Angel, so it's a messy thing that feels very un WWF like. Awesome opening as Owen uses his speed to shut down Barry and send him all over and then to the outside to stall as he has no answers for him. Owen breaks out monkey flips and northern lights suplxes, and SBG is in shock and demands to know what any of these moves are actually called. Barry catches him with a dropkick to take over, and we get a fun control seg again as he works as hard as he can and beats the crap out of him working on the neck. Owen takes some big bumps and the chest corner bump like his brother, and then a sweet flatback when Barry dropkicks him right in the chest after. Owen mounts a comeback with a crossbody and lights him up with a gross dropkick to the face, and then wins with a flying splash off the top.
**3/4

Match#2 The Hart Foundation vs The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers

HF jump them this time after they stall, and it's a great heartwarming ass kicking of these shits after months of the same opening stuff. They target Ray and beat the breaks off him as Anvil gets whacky again and laughs as he smacks him around, and Ray's selling rocks hard. Bret gets sick of beating him up and grabs him by the tights and drags him to the the corner so Jaques can get in for his turn. AMAZING. They kick his face in as well and bounce his face over the ring, and t's fantastic stuff as they're doing lots of different things and really fucking his day up. Jaques catches Bret with a boot as he runs in and gets his brother in to exact some revenge with another great control seg of offence and shithead stooging. Anvil keeps getting drawn in to make it worse for Bret each time as the brother double team and knock the piss out of him. Bret's selling and bumping is next level as he's magically become the best FIP overnight. Hart takes Ray's head off with an elbow to the back of the head and crawls over to Anvil for a hot tag. HE GOES INSANE AND SHOULDERBLOCKS ONE OF THE BROTHERS AND CHEST BUMPS THE OTHER TO SEND HIM FLYING. FUCK YEAH ANVIL. He beats their asses and gets Bret back in to go for the kill. They go for the Hart Attack but shitty Hebner runs in the way and Bret knocks him out cold. HF keeps fighting them and have it won, but the ref is dead, and another one comes out calls for the bell in a real bullshit call for a great match.
***

The ref DQ's the brothers by saying they hit the ref, but they didn't at all. REAL fucking stupid.

The Brothers come back out and say the fans will run out of breath so they can talk. They then they say they like them and they know the fans love them very much. Ray says they take importance on not letting them down, and they would like a rematch with HF but with a referee that can do the job right. Jaques says they cheated but they'll get their hands raised just for the fans next time. This is the best.

Match#3 The Ultimate Warrior (c) vs Honky Tonk Man w/Jimmy Hart (WWF Intercontinental Championship)
Warrior is all sorts of fired up as he runs after Honky and kicks his butt on the outside and then in the ring when he throws him back inside. He hits some good strikes aside from his awful punches, sadly. Jimmy distracts him so HTM can take over, and Warrior's selling is perfectly fine actually. Warrior comes back with ease and kicks his ass once more and bumps him around. He goes after Jimmy and ends up fighting with HTM on the outside until they both get counted out.
*

Jimmy tries to hit him with the guitar, but Warrior catches him and beats them both up and holds the ring. He smashes the guitar like a jerk.

Match#4 Curt Hennig vs Jim Brunzelle
Bee is now wearing new tights with the American flag airbrushed on them, so maybe the Bees are dead? Curt gives him a little and shows his bumping, but not the famous extent of the next few years. Jim is bland and nothing, but Curt can make anyone look good if he wants to, and he does just that here. Curt drops him with a punch and beats him down in a fun little control seg, and the commentators call him "Perfect" despite not debuting on TV as such, so this show is just odd and off. Jim comes back and now Perfect bumps his ass off as he turns himself inside out on every shot he takes, and it's so good. Perfect wins with the Running Forearm.
**

Post match, Perfect drops a few elbows on him before leaving.

Match#5 The Big Boss Man vs Ken Patera
Ken is finally in the right role of putting people over if he must be here, and Boss is deserving of kicking his teeth in. Boss controls with a headlock and wears him down, and Ken's not really trying at all as he knows he's done, and i respect laziness on the last days of a job because it's human and we've all done it. Ken now tries a little harder with arm work, and Boss does ok selling and trying to fight out of it. They have a little fun back and forth with good shots being thrown by both, and Boss hits a lariat and then a running splash to win.
**

tumblr_lj1d2bdh9p1qzx70zo1_500.jpg

Match#6 Hulk Hogan vs Ted DiBiase w/Virgil
Hulk doesn't have the plate or gas tank with him, but bless him for wearing the bonnet as the cocaine is NEXT LEVEL. He clunks their heads and makes them look fools with ease as Hogan is probably done playing nice until he gets his title back because he's a cunt and wants his spot back that's not his anymore. Ted takes a massive bumps and stooges for him as he's feeding right in for Hogan's work, and it does work very well despite it being evil and deeply wrong after his amazing year. Ted finally comes back and attacks the arm with grinds him down, and Hogan doesn't bother to actually sell anything and instead just kinda sits there for most of it. Ted moves into kicking his ass, and Hogan at least sells that better, but i'm really not happy right now. Hogan comes back and does Hogan things and wins with the Legdrop with the bonnet on his stupid head. Fuck off.

Meadowlands-11/9

New market has been taped, and we've got a couple of new matchups, so lets dance.

Match#1 Hulk Hogan vs Bad News Brown
News finally gets the big match on a live event as he's deserved since the Bret feud ended, so i'm excited for this. News shows no fear or respect as he jumps the big man and lays down a kicking on him, and man is it fun to see him fighting and beating Hogan down. Hulk comes back with his stuff and bounces Bad out of the ring and brawls with him and kicks his ass. News catches him with a heabutt to take back over and gets dirty with his attack with eye pokes, chokes and punches to the face as hard as he can. The commentators are AWFUL as they beg for Hogan to come back, and it's now hitting me i better get used to that. News hits the leg drop and Hogan kicks out at 1 to send a message. News doesn't lose his head but he realises he's probably dead and can't end it, and hey Hogan comes back and hulks up. The ref gets bumped, sp Hogan grabs News by the beard and winds up a punch like a goofball. News gets the bonnet and hits him in the ribs and puts it on, but Hogan beats him up and gets it back and headbutts him like a cheater and hits the Legdrop to end News' undefeated streak.
**

Match#2 Ted DiBiase w/Virgil vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Love to see the Mid-South coming back to life after that fun Mania match. Hack refuses to be messed with and clobbers him with great punches to the mush, and we get more fun Ted bumps as Hack kicks his tail. Virgil distracts him so Ted can hit him with axe handle and then throw him into the guard rails head first for a gross landing as it falls on him as he lands backwards. Ted then throws him into the post and kicks the shit out of him in brutal fashion. Hack sells his ass off and really gets trucked a few times, and it's a blast. Hack comes back and bounces his skull off things and makes him eat a ton of shit, and Ted is once again the best punching bag in the company. Ted rakes the eyes and sends him to the floor for Virgil to attack him, but Hack gets the board and kills him with it. He swings it like a madman and everyone runs for it ,and the ref DQ's him for being a crazy person.
**1/4

Match#3 The Hart Foundation vs The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers

HF jump them again for another hot opening after they threw toy frogs at them like jerks. They again beat the tar out of Ray with their fantastic offence, and also taunt his brother just to do it. Jaques gets the same treatment from Anvil when he tries to help, and he's a goofy and funny seller, so it's a lot of fun to watch unfold. Anvil breaks out the sick chest block to send him flying around the ring, and it's wild how easy he does it. Bret gets caught with a boot running in like last night and that leads to a good control seg from the bothers once more, and Bret is a rad FIP getting beaten and taken to task by these dirty bastards. Anvil finally gets in and tackles and smashes his way through them like a rabid animal. Things break down as Bret hits a piledriver with the refs back turned, and Jaques comes off the top with an axe handle to the head to give Ray the chance to roll over and make the pin.

Tonight; The Blue Blazer makes his debut.

Match#1 Jake Roberts vs Mike Williams
Standard perfectly fine 90 seconds for Jake. Nothing more, nothing less. He wins with the DDT.
*

Post match, Damien comes out to play.

The Brother Love Show-
-I LOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
-He brings on Dino Bravo & Frenchy as his guests because they love their country and being strong. Dino says he's proud. of his heritage as Love says he's so proud to be near the strongest man in the world. He brings up Hacksaw as a man with no love in his heart for him, and he even carries a weapon around. He needs love, and Dino is the man to teach him that lesson. Bravo says he's the reason he hates this country because of what he does. He's going to use his physical strength and team him a lesson.
-BL asks if there's anything he loves about America, and Dino says he loves BL.

Match#2 Demolition w/Mr Fuji vs Tony Sober & Scott Colontonio
They get 3 minutes to give a life changing incredible ass beating, and my god do i love them more and more each time they show up. Demo have a cut in saying they're going to make it worse for the Dogs, and they'll save the worst for them. They beat the hell out of the jobbers to send a message of pain and fear, and it's the coolest. They take a kid's poor head off to win.
**

WWF Events Center-
-Hammer says this has been his banner year except for one pebble he stumbled over. He's stubborn and belligerent, but he's going to smash though him and go on to better and bigger things.
-Tito says people are wondering if he can do it alone, well he's got a lot of contracts to prove why he's be around for so long and so successful. He's going to bring the good fight and get a title match with his hard work.

Match#3 King Haku w/Bobby Heenan vs Bert Centeno
Very fun 90 seconds for our beloved and scary King. Brutal kicks and chops and slams from him as he's just gets how to get the most out of his time. He wins with his gross Superkick.
*3/4

Match#4 George Steele w/Mine vs Larry Stevens

A 60 second classic from the hairiest man to ever live in a wrestling ring. He wins with the dreaded Hammerlock.
Pro Wrestling 101

WWF Events Center-
-Ken Patera love America and being a strong man. Not a big fan of prison or McDonalds, however.
-Bass loves to kick and hit anyone who gets in his way so they can feel his new friends the spurs. Brutus felt them and he didn't like it very much, and he doesn't care.

Match#5 The Hart Foundation vs Barry Horowitz & Chance McQuaid
It's sort of shame they took a break as a team for a few months because they're perfect and add SO much every time they're on TV together. I get it as Bret is the future and needs the run, but i do love them together. Another fantastic one for the fellas with all the hits being played and hit with precision and awesomeness. They win with the Hart Attack.
**

WWF Special Report-
-Hayes covers Warrior making short work of HTM, and now starting a war with him after being attacked with the guitar.

Match#6 The Blue Blazer vs George South
In a funny moment, Bobby asks if that's Frankie dressed up, and man i can't wait for that High Energy run. Super fun 2 minutes for Owen as he shows off his speed and awesome agility as he runs South all over the place. Owen wins with the Moonsault.
**

They replay Bass' attack on Brutus.
-Jack Tunney announces he has fined Bass 10 thousand dollars for his action, and no further acts will be tolerated by the WWF.

Match#7 The Bolsheviks w/Slick vs David Isley & Mario Mancini
Vile stinky trash as is the norm. They win with a wrestling move.
FUCK OFF

WWF Events Center-
-Boss Man hates false men who think they can skirt the laws he sets. Hogan and Savage are going to learn the law of the Boss. Slick says he's the new sheriff in town.

Match#1 The Ultimate Warrior vs Larry Stevens

Jesse dubs him the Ultimate Maniac and says he can be outsmarted, and he's not wrong on either. Good Warrior squash as he beats the jobber up on the outside for the hell of it and then beats the brakes off him in the ring for a minute or so. HTM has a cut in saying Warrior has what is rightfully is, and he's going to get him. Warrior wins with the Combo
*3/4

Stage Interview-
-Craig has the Rougeau Brothers with him, and they get boos from these terrible fans.
-Jaques says ever since he said they would move to America, they've been getting fan mail and phone calls saying to please move next to them and become their neighbour. Ray says since they've been in such demand around the world they've got a lot of contracts they can't get to, and they need a manger. They love the fans and they're going to prove it by choosing someone like them. The most fabulous manger in the world, JIMMY HART. FUCK YEAH. He hugs them as he says he's so excited to be chosen to do this,. He's still legally the manager of HF as he owns a piece of their contracts, so he's going to give the brothers 50% of each contract to make double each and every night. He promises to tell the brothers all HF's weakness as they'll never become the tag champs again. Long live, The Rougeau Brothers. They all chant USA in an amazing moment.

Match#2 Ted DiBase w/Virgil vs John Latu
Ted batters the poor kid with a INSANE backdrop to the floor and just bashes him as he's seemingly born to kill people in 88. He has a cut in saying he's going to show off a new possession that every man would love to have, but very few could have. YES. Ted wins with the MDD.
**

WWF Events Center-
-Andre & Bobby talk about how Andre is the greatest and undefeated man. He was stripped of the title in 10 minutes and he was NEVER beaten for the title. Everyone wants photos of him. He's a phenomena and everyone from Hogan to Randy know it.
-Randy says he's gotta to be sharp and ready as the challengers are getting tougher and meaner. News is getting sent back to the street, and he doesn't listen to king. He's going to bankrupt Ted, and Andre he's ready for him and everyone. YEAH.

Match#3 Dino Bravo vs Mario Mancini
Dino does things that are bad. He wins.
Poop

Match#4 George Steele w/Mine vs Chance McQuaid

More classic work from Mr Animal. He wins with the dreaded Hammerlock
********

WWF Events Center-
-Don talks about hard work and how it never gets easier when you're at the top. He knows what it's like on the dark and light as he's done it both, and they're both hard. He;'s going to break the hammer into dust as he finds a rock hard time.
-Boss wants everyone to know he's in town and he's the man. His rules, he regulations will be followed by everyone as he's the Boss.

Match#5 Ken Patera vs Bob Emery
2 awful minutes for Kenny as he's beyond washed and cooked at this point, so fuck him. He does lame weak power stuff with his terrible arm that makes it look worse, so he's lost the one thing that made him watchable. He wins with the Full Nelson.
1/5*

WWF Update-
-Gene shows footage from a Rick Rude post match where he took his tights off and got stripped naked by Jake. Must have been cut from a show, sadly.
-Jake says he warned him and he's not going to back down from what he says. He's going to take his pants off wherever he goes.
-Rude says he thought Jake would fight him man to man, but he's not shocked by a snake. He's got new tights coming, so try and take em.

Match#6 The Blue Blazer vs Barry Horowtiz
3 minutes on TV in the proper roles of Owen doing amazing cool things, and Barry getting a little in and doing the best he's allowed to show off. Owen takes some wild bumps and impresses Jesse as a result, and even more when he comes back and kicks Barry's face in. He wins with the Moonsault.
*3/4

They replay Bass' attack again.
-Brutus yells a lot as he can' convey anger or any emotion, so it feels phoney and bad.

Match#7 Demolition w/Mr Fuji vs David Isley & Dave Paradise
Jesse says when he was born the nurse remarked on what a body he has, and that's how his mum named him. DEAD. Super great one again from the boys as they club and smash their way through these poor dorks. Tons of amazing moment on the outside for a change as they use the steps and post to fuck em up, and then kill them back in the ring. They win with the Decapitation
**

WWF Events Center-
-Hercules says the same words he's been saying for months. Brother needs a massive change asap.
-HF say it makes them sick to lose their money and Jimmy is nothing but a bloodsucker. Anvil says it just means it's 25% they're going to hit them, smash and take their heads off and rip them to death.

Match#1 The Powers of Pain w/The Baron vs Rusty Riddle & Gene Ligon

Again, Baron doesn't fit them at all and feels so out of place. Still, good 2 minutes of Barb being the anchor holding this together as Lord is mostly bad and only good for hitting hard when needed, and it's not really needed when Barb is very good at everything. He breaks out the boot and all his brutal stuff, and my goodness is it good. Barb wins with his Headbutt.
*1/2

WWF Special Report-
-Hayes talks about News winning at SummerSlam.
-News again demands a title match as he's never lost (wish that was true) and he accuses Randy of hiding behind Elizabeth. The longer he waits, the worse it's going to be on Randy's body. He's going to destroy him.

Match#2 Ron Bass vs Joe Milano
Another angry one for Bass. He's good and all, but he's also sort of boring and lazy at this point and doesn't put forth a ton. He wins with the Pedigree.
*

Match#3 Tito Santana vs Len Kruger

Great 2 minutes for our guy as he's moving like it's 85 and is still the top midcarder of these here woods, and man i wish he was. He wins with the Forearm.
**

WWF Events Center-
-Koko is happy with his pal Frankie, and he wants to fight and sing with the best.
-The Russians sure say some words.

Match#4 Honky Tonk Man w/Jimmy Hart vs Martin LeRoy
Too long at nearly 3 minutes as HTM doesn't have the juice for it at all, so it's a long waste of everyone's time for a guy born to be at 90 seconds. He finally wins with the SSR.
1/2*

WWF Events Center-
-The Dogs stumble through another terrible promo.
-Danny Davis says words.

Match#5 Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Tommy Ulysses
HOOOOOOOOOO. Good stuff from the guy with the board as he smacks hard and marches around like a funny goof. He wins with the Stance.
*

The Brother Love Show-
-I LOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU
-Gorilla says he's going to get rid of him from Challenge. What an asshole, man.
-Love says his guest is a man bringing law and order back to the WWF which has been missing for far too long. Big Boss Man & Brother Slick.
-Slick says it does his heart good to see a man like BL that appreciates the intentions of Boss Man. He's been complaining of the low life scum that walks around the WWF, and now Boss is here to clean it up. Boss says love means getting his stick and touching someone with it. People like Hogan and Randy are men he wants to hit as as hard as he can as he spells out love.
-BL says they love you just like he loves youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Match#6 Rick Rude w/Bobby Heenan vs Tommy Angel
This is from Superstars where the angle happened, so we get to see it in full now. He beats the hell out of the kid as Jake has a cut in warning he's going to take the tights off if he does it again. Rude throws awesome forearms and chops, and looks even better now. He wins with the RA
*3/4

Post match, Rude takes his red tights off and shows the Cheryl ones, and Jake runs our and kills him with a massive backdrop and beats him down and rips his tights off to strip him butt naked.

Match#7 The British Bulldogs vs George South & Trent Knight
3 minutes in another too long one for DK, but more than enough for Davey to look real good once more. Matilda has a cut in barking, and it's the best promo on this show tbh. DK does a little at the end and wins with his Superplex.
*

WWF Events Center-
-Terry Taylor is again very cocky and says he wants to face the best but they're all afraid of him.
-THE WARRIOR SAYS THE SAME SWEAT FLOWS IN HIS BODY AS OURS. THE SAME FORCE HE BEAT HONKY IS THE SAME FORCE HE FEELS. HE WON THE IC TITLE FOR THE WARRIORS. JUMP ON HIS BACK AND HOLD ON IF HE HAS TO SWIM ACROSS THE OCEAN AND WE WILL SURVIVE. I PROMISE YOUUUUUUUUU AHGGRGRGRGRGRGRGR.

Match#1 Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Antonio Chapotlin

More good work from Jimbo for 2 minutes and change. Hard shots and the like, it's simple and fun. Bravo and Frenchy come out and walk around the ring with an anti USA sign, so Duggan leads a USA chant back at them. Duggan takes the kids head off with the Lariat to win.
*3/4

AKEEM THE AFRICAN DREAM HAS BEEN BORN. (Yes, this is horrible and gross. Not much more i can add other than fuck this)

Match#2 Tito Santana vs Tony Ulysses
Shorter one for Tito, but still very fun. He hits the jobber very hard and takes his head off with the Forearm.
*1/2

Match#3 The Bolsheviks vs Tony Suber & Scott Colontoni

Very not good. Russians wins with a move
1/2*

WWF Events Center-
-Fuji says he has an open door for anyone to meet his team. Smash says people beg to knock on it so he can kick some teeth in when he opens it. Ax says there's a ton of teams who want a shot at them, and he welcomes them to their violent world.
-They replay Warrior's promo from a couple of weeks ago.

Haku is carried out with all the mid card heels following him out as his loyal subjects.

Match#4 King Haku w/Bobby Heenan vs Martin Leroy
Haku is given 2 minutes to maul and rip some poor bastard apart, and it's another goddamer of a squash of pure violence and hate. He wins with his Superkick.
**

WWF Events Center-
-The Harts are irked because of the loss of their hard earned money and they've had enough of this blood sucker. They're going to slam and kill them to get their 50% back.
-Rick Rude says he made a fool out himself for thinking Jake would face him like a man and not pull his tights off from behind. He says he's gonna wear his tights wherever he pleases, and about his old lady, it won't take long before she comes back with him.

In a pre-tape, News is holding a WWF Magazine as he says there's an article on why he deserves a title shot. Randy needs to come out behind Liz's apron strings and give him a title shot because he knows he's the next WWF champion.

Match#5 Powers of Pain w/Baron vs Bob Emery & Chance McQuaid
Barb carries the load with more brutal smashmouth work that's fantastic looking and meaner than hell. Lord does some stuff and hey whatever, but this is Barb's team and show. Barb wins with his Flying Headbutt.
*1/2

Stage Interview-
-Ron Bass is here and pretty much repeats his promo work about Brutus being a coward who stuck his nose in world and got it chopped off.

Match#6 Jake Roberts vs George South
Jake is given 3 minutes in a bad choice because he's a born two minute man, but it's still mostly fine. Also works as a backdrop for Vince and Jesse to banter about Akeem and eating live chicken vs eating a dead one. Jake wins with the DDT.
*1/2

Match#7 The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers w/Jimmy Hart vs Lanny Poffo & Burt Centeno

Hell yeah man, 3 killer minutes for them to show off and be cool and awful shitheads in the best ways. They've got some new wicked stooging and just kill it. The Harts have a cut in promising to give the brothers a wrestling lesson. The Brothers win with a sick seated senton
**

Ted closes the show by saying next week he's going to reveal something all men want, but very few can have

Match#1 Demolition w/Mr Fuji vs The British Bulldogs (WWF World Tag Team Championships)
Love to see Demo again, but it also feels like it's time for a new feud after being stagnant for a little while. Wish they ran more HF matches because that was perfection, but sadly not. Still, always a blast to see my boys. The Dogs control the arm like last time and it's good work from Davey, along with some great selling from Demo. It's all good, but it's also heel in peril for two GIANT humans that shouldn't be dominated in such a way for a long time. It's dumb and makes no sense as the Dogs can just grab a limb on a fresh Demo and have it work, and it feels like no one is actually paying attention to who Demo are, and who current Bulldogs are not. The champs take over and kick the shit out of Davey's arm with the post in revenge, but it doesn't last long as DK gets in for a hot tag. He thankfully gets punched in the back of the skull and isolated, and they mess him up in fun fashion of beating his skinny corpse up. Davey eventually gets in and takes everyone to task in another fantastic hot tag. things break down and Demo slip in a cane shot on DK to steal it. Bad finish with a bad opening. I'll be very happy when i don't need to watch these teams meet again.

Match#2 The Hart Foundation vs The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers w/Jimmy Hart

Jimmy being there REALLY upsets the Foundation, so the opening attack comes across as more focused and mean as a fuck you to him being there. Anvil chokes and mauls people, and Bret lays in all his strikes to the head and body, and the Brothers sell and bump their asses off. Ray is dragged to the corner so Jaques can get a beating, and i love how much Bret is working on his facial expressions and mannerisms. Fuck anyone who thinks he was nothing but a great wrestler. Anyway, they beat the hell out of Jaques in the corner using double teams and the tag rope to choke him, and it's brutal and radical. JIMMY HART RUNS OVER AND HITS BRET IN THE ANKLE WITH THE MEGAPHONE AS THE REF'S BACK IS TURNED, AND BRET FALLS ON THE MAT AND THE BROTHER SWARM HIM. They destroy him and somehow become even smugger and cockier as it goes on, and it's a beautiful display of how amazing they've become. Jimmy shouts a bunch of trash at Bret and adds to it as well, and Bret sells his ass off in another killer piece of work from him., The Brothers work on his ribs and body and are always doing something to him to never give him a moment to catch his breath. Anvil finally gets in the second Bret gets free, and he goes wild on them running full force and battering them. things break down and they do that awful finish where Hebner is knocked down during the Hart Attack and DQ's the brothers for it. Wet fart of an ending what was becoming a fantastic match.
***

Before we get to the world title, i feel i have to say something about such a stellar feud coming to an end. It's tragic and sad, but i get that it's also been going since April and it's time to move on for both. Even more so when they clearly want to give Andre one last proper title feud before he's done for good (another sad tale we'll cover in time) Still, it hurts to see it finally end. So for one last time, lets fucking do this.

Randy Savage (c) w/Miss Elizabeth vs Ted DiBiase w/Virgil (WWF World Heavyweight Championship-Steel Cage Match)
Massive brawl to start as neither is holding back as they slap and smack the life out of one another, and it's another killer moment between them. Ted moves ahead thanks to a well timed boot to the face, but he gets caught climbing and gets hurled to the mat. They keep brawling and dragging each other off the cage, and it turns into a really awesome battle of attrition and wills. They punch each other as they're on their knees and then Randy throws him face first into it for the first cage us, and Ted takes a wicked bump. Virgil saves the day and allows Ted to shove Savage to the mat again, and he beats the dog shit out of him. Randy fights like a maniac to get something going, but Virgil is able to stop him once more, and poor Randy is belted and knocked down even harder. They do a double down and both climb up, and Randy is almost there, but Ted drops down and pulls him back to the mat and goes back to kicking his ass like a madman. Randy fights back for the 100th time and sends him face first into the cage off an atomic drop. He gets to the door, BUT VIRGIL SMASHES INTO HIS SKULL. GODDAMN IT. Ted crawls out to the door and almost gets there, but Savage comes back to life and slowly drags him back in just as Ted is about to fall out, and he gets him back in and smashes his face into the steel. They both climb up and trade punches back and forth, and Randy grabs Ted and rams his head into Virgil to finally knock these fuckheads out cold. He climbs over and out to retain his title
***3/4

Another complete blast of a match to end the best feud of the year. Would't expect anything less from these two.

Match#1 Rick Rude w/Bobby Heenan vs Joe Latu

Two minutes for the Rude dude! He's also got on the tights again because he has a clear deathwish, and i respect it a lot. Rude beats the heck out of the jobber and shows he's more than ready and deserving of his 89 push. Her wins with the RA.
**

Post match, he kisses another lady. Time to move on to sex in the ring tbh.

WWF Update-
-They randomly cover the attack on SBG.

Match#2 The Big Boss Man w/Slick vs Joe Cruz
Lotta poor fellas named Joe getting their asses kicked tonight. Samoa Joe would be very upset right now. Awesome shit from Boss for two minutes as he's taking heads off and throwing nasty kicks to the body like a real shithead bully. Boss wins with his Slam.
**

Post match, he cuffs and beats the hell out of him with the stick.

Match#3 Ken Patera vs Chris Duffey
Ken also gets 2 minutes but he's a one armed cooked loser, son this is pretty terrible. He wins with his Full Nelson. You sir are no Bobby.
1/6*

Match#4 Ted DiBiase w/Virgil vs Tommy Angel

Holy shit, what en episode. Ted is also given two minutes and is the best of the lot as he's a true motherfucker of a man beating the life out of this kid for daring to be in his way. Ted wins with a nasty looking MDD.
**

WWF Events Center-
-Brutus is ready to cut and strut on Ron Bass' head. Holy shit this guy is terrible.
-Bobby Heenan throws out a challenge for Savage and Hogan to face Haku. The gold is going to match the gold on his head. Haku says everyone will bow to the king.

Match#5 The Ultimate Warrior vs Trent Knight
Fine stuff for Warrior as he's got a routine down and doesn't fuck much up, so good goings for him. The Combo gets the crazy man a win.
*

The Brother Love Show-
-Gorilla again calls BL a goof and says he should leave. Fuck off.
-I LOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEE YOU. There is no love greater than that between two brothers, so please welcome the Rougeau's!!! Jaques says they can't wait to move to the good old USA, and Love says he can't wait for them to move here either. Ray brings on Jimmy Hart to a series of massive boos, and he comes out and hugs everyone and again says he's giving them half the Hart's contracts because he owns them. They give BL a tiny flag and declare they love him.

Match#6 Sam Houston vs Mike Williams
"Don't all jackasses have tiny ears?" -Heenan. Short nothing stuff from Sam who in no way needs a showcase. He wins with his bad bulldog.
1/4*

Match#7 Dino Bravo w/Frenchy Martin vs Dave Paradise

Hacksaw has an insert about how much he adores America and hates foreigners, and yeah fuck Dino. Also, fuck this.

Randy Savage (c) w/Miss Elizabeth vs Andre The Giant w/Bobby Heenan (WWF World Heavyweight Championship-29/9)
Bobby messes with Liz at ringside so Pat Patterson shows up in a suit and gets him to back off, and then the ref kicks him out. Boooo. Match finally starts with Andre now very mad and strangles Randy to show that, and it's once again unlike anything else given what a freak of a nature he is. Also helps that Randy is the best pure pinball face in peril in the world and can help him out a ton. Savage manages to knock him into the ropes for the new Andre heel spot and plays with his nose and face like a little kid, and it's very fun. Randy beats him when he gets free, AND HE GOES WILD AND HITS THE AXE HANDLE TO THE HEAD TO KNOCK HIM DOWN. YEAG DIG IT. He goes for the elbow but Andre moves and rolls to the outside. He goes after Liz and grabs her ankle, so Randy follows and hits him a ton and they go to a double counout.
**1/2

Randy gets Liz out of there as he carries her to the back. Andre grabs the ref and threatens to rip his head off and then he throws him down super hard. Fink speaks to the ref and it's announced that Andre has now been fined for that.

Match#1 Honky Tonk Man w/Jimmy Hart vs Bob Emery

Jesse and Vince ponder what it would be like to invite Warrior over for dinner, and Jesse concludes he would break a lot of plates. Anyway, short nothing HTM squash this week as he's sort of done giving a shit, so fuck it. He wins with the SRR.
1/2*

WWF Update-
-Gene is finally able to talk about Summerslam as it's on VHS now!!! He shows some footage from the awful POP/Russians match.
-Slick says he's going to take out Baron, and the war isn't over. No, it's over you fucking asshole.

Match#2 Koko B Ware vs Bill Newkirk
The jobber attacks Koko from behind and gets his ass beaten for such a crime against our beloved Birdman. Tons of killer moves and all that fire and then some, and it's just a great time. Koko kills him with the Dropkick and Ghostbuster to win.
**

Match#3 The Big Boss Man w/Slick vs David Stoudimiere

Sweet 90 seconds from the face of the law. He bashes and batters the poor bastard and kills him with a truly gross looking Boss Man Slam to win.
*1/2

Post match, he cuffs and beats him.

WWF Events Center-
-The Rockers are all smiles as they're proving they're the best team in the WWF. Experts say they're too small and weak to beat Demo, but they've been around the world and been on top and they're ready to do that again. Shawn says you can call them small, but they make it up with heart and courage.
-News is sick and tried of waiting for his title shot, and he might go after Tunney or the refs as he doesn't like them either. He has no sympathy for anyone, so get your will ready when you meet him.

Sherri is introduced to the crowd as she's women's champion, and she makes out with Hammer!!!!!!

Match#4 Greg Valentine w/Jimmy Hart vs Reno Riggins
Greg gets 2 minutes to do his thing, and hey it's amazing as hell as he's turned back the clock in 88. Muraco has a cut in talking about taking a leg off, but yeah he's gone at this point so whatever. Greg wins with the Figure Four.
**

WWF Events Center-
-JYD says words despite not working here anymore.
-Fuji says his team is all about pain, pain and pain, so come on, Smash says he's never trained this hard and he's going to smash some brains in because that's what Fuji wants. Ax says they'll beat anyone up because they want to, but it's about making Fuji happy.

Match#5 The British Bulldogs vs Johnny Zeigler & Trent Knight
Fuck it, you know the score as they're days are coming to an end because DK has been bullying the Rougeau Brothers, and he's about to get his jaw smashed to pieces by Jaques as a result, and then they quit like big old bitches. They win with the Rocket Launcher.
1/2*

Stage Interview-
-Gene has Ted DiBase, Virgil, Heenan & Hercules as his guests this week!
-Ted says he's proven everyone and everything has a price since he got here. He's got anything you can name and now he's made the biggest purchase of his life in something no one else has. Gene asks what he means exactly, and Ted says it's something very few men in mankind has owned or could own, and it's something no man owns now. He hands over a case to a very happy Bobby Heenan, and Gene again asks what all this means, AND TED SAYS HE HAS BOUGHT HIS OWN PERSONAL SLAVE. OH NO. Gene says it's 1988 so what gives. Ted says he's bought bodyguards, mangers and a even giant when he wants, so he bought a slave. Gene asks who it is, and Ted says HERCULES. Herc is really confused and asks what the hell is going on, and Bobby tells him to take it as it comes as whatever will be will be, and the party is over, and he's got a new position that he's earned. Bobby tries to leave but Herc grabs him by the arms and drives him to his knees, so Ted smacks him in the skull with the case to knock him out cold. Ted stands over him and tells him to learn his position as he's not to speak or ever questions him or put his hands on anyone unless he tells him to. He kicks him in the head and slaps him a few times, and Virgil joins in. Herc gets back up and clobbers him and runs the heels off with his chain.
-Fantastic angle that would rule in a messed up way if it didn't lead to Ted being stuck with fucking Hercules after the Savage feud.

Match#6 Brutus Beefcake vs George South.
Awful trash from the barber. He wins with the Sleeper.
1/4*

He cuts the hair like a jerk. Maybe the worst crime committed on this episode that involved bringing back slavery.

Mr Perfect introduces himself as someone who is perfect in every way as the common man could never do such a thing. He says it's not all cracked up to be when he plays pool as he does that perfectly, He knocks every ball in with ease as he's PERFECT.

Match#7 Akeem w/Slick vs Allen Kinsley
OMG dances a lot and is introduced from Africa, and only Vince seems to be enjoying this because of course he is. Akeem wins in 50 seconds with his 747.

WWF Events Center-
-The Brothers are very happy because Jimmy answers all the fan mail, handles the contracts and has even found them a place to live in America.
-Randy says he's super sharp and super quick as he's ready to face anyone in front of him. He's got the inspiration in Liz, and he's going to defend the title with honour and heart thanks to her. YEAH.

WWF Wrestling Challenge
October 2nd, 1988
Louisville, KY

Match#1 Jake Roberts vs Larry Stevens

Much better at 2 minutes for Jake as he can be mean and amazing, but not get dragged into being lazy and not doing a lot when it's needed. Jake fakes an injury to draw the kid in and then kills him with the DDT to win.
**

Post match, Damien does his thing.

The Brother Love Show-
-I LOOOOOVEEEEE YOU
-He says this is bitter sweet as all good things must come to an end, and this show will not be part of Challenge anymore. BOOOOOOOOO. He says he knows everyone is disappointed that next week they won't see him, but he's moving on to bigger and better things in the WWF. He says next week they will bring a man on to attempt to fill his shoes, and that man is Mean Gene!
-BL asks him to spread his word of love, and Gene says he's been spreading something that doesn't smell like love to him. Further more, those shoes were filled with something that makes tomatoes grow well in a backyard. Gene snatches the mic and asks the fans if they think BL love them, and they stupidly boo like jerks. He asks if they think he loves himself, and they also chant no., He says no one loves him when it comes down to it, and BL runs off.
-What a sad and tragic end to BL on Challenge

Match#2 Demolition w/Mr Fuji vs John Latu & Scott Casey
Demo gets 3 minutes to do their thing, and holy fuck is it amazing as hell as they club and smash the life out of these poor, poor souls. So many wicked and gross looking shots, and it's just the best possible stuff from our boys. They take a head off to win a goddamner.
**

WWF Events Center-
-Bobby & Andre are standing by. Bobby talks about how no one really understands the man behind him and how big he actually is. Andre stick his hand over Bobby face to cover it, and Bobby says he himself is 6ft and 240 and Andre makes him look small. He is undefeated since day 1, he put Hogan out and took his title. Andre shouts he will stay undefeated forever.
-Koko sings a tune because he's happy. I'm happy he's happy.

Match#3 The Blue Blazer vs Trent Knight
Owen gets 2 minutes to blow minds once again with big flips and massive dropkicks, and it's like looking into current wrestling as it would become and seeing a man help to change it. Owen wins with the Moonsault.
**

Match#4 Bad News Brown vs Randy Spears
Little over 90 seconds for News to clobber a kid in fun fashion as always does. He wins with the Blaster.
*

Match#5 Don Muraco vs Harley Manson
Fine squash for Don in one of his last as he was fired for arguing with then agent Nick Bockwinkel. Lame reason to sack someone in 1988, but he's not adding much so its not a loss we're going to feel. He wins with the Tombstone.
*

Match#6 The Hart Foundation vs Gene Ligon & Tony Suber
Also 3 minutes for HF in a wonderful as hell call as they get to do all they can do, and look even better in some aspects than Demo did. Really a neck and neck race for who the better team is at this point. Bret is again let loose to display his crisp work, and Anvil hits people really damn hard to make Bret come across as even more refined. They win with the Hart Attack.
**

Match#7 Ron Bass vs Curt Todd

Bass gets 3 as well but he's old and sort of done as well at this point, so it's not very good. He wins with his pedigree
