First and probably last time I'll agree with Cole on something :lol1:

The hell man? I thought this was the start of a bright friendship?

Yeah mam is the way, I rip the piss out of a few of my mates who say mum, it's just... Wrong.

Wish I could like this post a thousand times. Wonderful.

Not only did you make me feel much less panicky regarding this pathetic insect, you made Arthur seem like the badass he is! :yay:

But yeah, I read that they tend to go after they're done with their meal, but in typical internet fashion you get responses like "REMOVE IT ASAP! YOUR DOG IS GOING TO GET A LETHAL DISEASE IF IT'S NOT REMOVED SOON". After reading it you're like "WTF NO! :why: :please:".

Awwww, shucks! Thanks!! :eek:tunga: Glad I could help you feel better!

Pfft. It's a possibility I'm sure, but not to that extent. The main thing I hear about around here is how they can get mosquito bitten and get West Nile virus. I've had quite a few dogs get numerous ticks, and it's never been a problem.

To respond to another point you made, though.... With them not being as common there, do you have access to one of the flea and tick preventatives that you can use on Arthur once a month? If so you might want to look into doing that, especially if they're starting to be more prevalent where you live.

Now, carry on with the goofy dialect / regional talk! :yay:

Believe it or not, mayonnaise will suffocate it and it will basically be okay to pull it out.

EDIT: Or vaseline.

An update which is on topic: WE GOT THE TICK OUT!

Mum came home and like the true badass she is, she just grabbed Arthur, forced him to be still, and pulled the fucker out. Arthur yelped so I got him a biscuit, while Mum went with the "oh stop moaning" approach. We then put the tick in salt and burned the shit out of it. Bastard. I then threw its burnt remains out into the garden as a symbol to any other ticks who want to mess with my dog. Knowing Arthur though, he'll find it, and eat it.

Awwww, shucks! Thanks!! :eek:tunga: Glad I could help you feel better!

To your latter point, we just spoke about that :). We had no idea about ticks tbh (she's heard of them, but didn't know much about them, while I had no idea they existed before today). I researched it earlier and told Mum (Yes, Mum, fuck you Cole & Jonathan) about the flea powder preventing them from jumping on him, and she said she'll do that with him. Thanks for your reassurances today Grammar :yay:

Mum actually said "Kinda feel bad burning it :(", to which I replied with "We should stab a stick through it, burn it on the stick outside, and force his family to watch". No one messes with Arthur.
