I agree (and have been saying) that Impact needs a 3 hour show. As for the bad ratings... that's a way to raise them. The biggest reason for this is that they are not yet big enough to get regular Raw viewers to change the channel to Impact.
Though I think that will eventually happen... I'm not necessarily saying that they'll reach the same point that Nitro did but they have a much bigger challenge then WCW had. WCW already had a well known roster and a core of fans big enough to fill up an area... Hogan and Bischoff just gave them that extra push they needed. Not to mention that Raw didn't exactly have high ratings at that time either. So WCW had much to gain and nothing to lose at that time.
TNA originals are not yet well known names (outside of the wrestling crowd) but they have a good core of fans. I believe a 3 hour show is the answer for bringing in new fans. Raw viewers might watch the third hour and that could go a long way!
