Does Carlito Still Have the Potential He Once Had?

Carlito returned last night and had a confrontation with coincedently John Cena. We all remember John Cena was Carlito's first and probably biggest rival. He had so much potential back then before he became a Caribbean Ninja. Does Carlito still have the potential he once had? Or he is unrepairable?


Side note...I said this in the SB yesterday...Carlito's first reaction to Cena's WWE title challenge was pulling an apple out of his pants and mauling that piece of fruit. That was one vicious mauling...

I never liked Carlito much, at first he was "cool" but his "cool" gimmick got overplayed and annoying. Granted his feud with Cena was immense and pretty damn good, he got stale when he tagged up with Masters.

Personally, though I'm not that big of a Carlito fan, his showing on Raw seemed great and I hope he does something now that he's back in the WWE

As more than a midcarder? Well, with a mild push he always seems to get to a nice midcard niche, so if they mantain the push he could become a nice upper midcarder tending toward midcard obviously

I think so. I've always had a soft spot for Carlito. He's pretty good in the ring and decent on the mic. I'm just really shocked we've never seen WWE try to repackage his gimmick a little bit. Maybe slick his hair back into a pony tail, some new tights and some more serious music.
I thought he did a great job with the promo against Cena last night and was kind of disappointed it didn't result in a match between the two.
I don't think Carlito has ever been very happy with what WWE has given him to work with and therefore slacks off a noticeable bit. I'm sure part of that is due to him being Daddy's little boy back in Puerto Rico.

I think Carlito deserves at least one more shot, and if nothing else he could be a pretty decent mid-carder or perhaps at the top of ECW.

I am honestly a fan of Carlito's and have been since he first showed up I though he had an interesting character and had the potential to be one of the top upper carders in the company. Maybe not a World Champion but for quite awhile he held the mid-card down.

He is good in the ring and on the mic, I honestly believe he hates the way the WWE has booked him the last few years and that's why he slacks off so much in the ring and on the mic, I agree that he could and should be shipped over to ECW and could by all means carry the brand as champion.

He had his most potential imo in feuds with Cena (debut) and Orton (2007) both were as a face and a heel so he showed versitility. I've never been a huge fan but Carlito could always be a good to great mid card face. His moveset lends himself to being a fan favorite and decent mic skills can possibly get him over with the crowd.

I like Carlito im not a huge fan but i like him. He is a solid performer and i think one more push or run is due. Im just glad he back on raw.

If he switched his look back to his old school look, I think people would take more to him. He is still in the Colons mode. Come on he turned on Primo, but both still dress alike. He needs to re-distinguish himself before he gets rolling again.

I always liked Carlito. If he had a better attitude, and gotten one of the big 5 (Cena, Taker, HHH, HBK, Orton) to like him he would have been where Sheamus was now. I would take Carlito over Sheamus or Swagger as a more credible challenger for the title. He has history, he has the look, I would put wrestling as equal, but he's definately better on the mic.
