Technically it is not nostalgia that's killing it's the way they use nostalgia. You see in these last two eras PG and Reality, most of the time they give us what we want and put a unwanted twist on it. Here are some examples...
- Goldberg and Lesnar 3 didn't have to be for the universal championship. There were people who wanted to see a Goldberg vs Lesnar 3, but WWE just had to put a rotten ingredient in the mix. "Let's make it a 2 min 4 moves Universal Title Match". That is what WWE was thinking. Even tho the pg and reality era really pales in comparison to the previous eras. I would've rather seen 2 young stallions go at it than a man who displayed he is way passed his prime versus a man who barely has any loyalty towards the business.
- Bret Hart comeback. Bringing him back was a huge thing, but he didn't need a US title. They were practically thinking " If the fans want to see the hitman wrestle, let's go crazy with the idea".
-If they somehow got him back. They probably would have had SCSA beat CM Punk at a WM like Rock did Cena. They wouldn't have let Punk win.
It's not only nostalgia they do that with almost everything we ask for...
-When we wanted Roman to win the Rumble. They went "Ok we have him win next year, we will make him face of the company, and we will shove him down your throats more than Cena
-When Seth came back from injury. We thought it was the perfect time for him to turn face. What did they do "Nah lets bring him back as a heel, Roman is the only face we need"
So it isn't Nostalgia kill WWE, WWE is killing itself....
