When i listen to him commentate it sounds like he's not a wrestling fan. It always sounds like he's reading off a script. He's way too hyper and doesnt know what to call certain moves. I don't mind him being hyper so much, as to the fact that i dont think he's a wrestling fan.

I was laughing when he was crying when Sting lost. What kinda bullshit is that? Lol.

I'm pretty sure he became a wrestling (a little bit anyways) once he got the job in TNA. You can tell he knows some of the moves as opposed to before when he knew none of them, but at the same time you can tell there's a lot he doesn't know about the matches and more importantly about calling the matches.

Hell, he was yelling while Abyss' head was trapped in a vice... You don't need to yell and make it over the top, a vice crushing your head can sell itself to the audience.

^Yeah, stick to deals of the day. (Which are FREAKING INSANE btw :))

But really, hes not that bad tbh. Sure, he does go over the top a bit with his voice, but thats what I like is the enthusiasm sometimes. IDK, maybe its just b/c I watch TNA more, but IDK. I dont think its as bad as what some of you guys crack it up to be

I don't know. When you hear Jim Ross commenting, you know he is enjoying his job, he is enjoying every minute of it. Instead with Don West you know he's trying his best, but his best on doing a job, like everyone else, doing their job, not their dream job

I just wanna know why you guys think this isnt what he likes to do and he isnt passionate about it. I mean is it just b/c he yells a lot oand you dont like it, or he was caught on film reading a script? Dude, look over at Raw when the camera is pointed the opposite direction of the ramp during a match and look at JR when hes talking. hes looking at a script too. Its not a crime. You people just throw everything out of proportion just a bit too much ;)

I actually don't think West is really that bad. Hell, I'd rather hear him being over the top than someone just talking monotone the whole time. I never really thought he was great, but nothing about him ever really made me complain.

^Exactly what I think. Byt no means is he the best ever, I think JR is miles ahead of him, but to say he doesnt have pssione for the business is ludacris or however you spell it....lol

I didn't said he was bad, in fact he isn't bad at all, but he is just doing his job, doing it well, but he's just doing his job. Instead, with JR, reading a script or not, he puts passion on it, he puts that little fan inside of him to commentate as well

Well no offense, but the question is kinda silly considering we have no clue. You can't just say, "Oh, he's not a wrestling fan," nor can you say he is. But that's what makes answering to this thread fun...so yay.

My guess:
He's a WWE fan, but hates TNA lol.

If nobody dares say it, I will. Don West absolutely sucks. When he talks, it sounds as if he haven't swallowed what he eaten, and when he screams I mute my television. There are so many other people they can place at the color commentator position, and yet they choose him.

I hope the TNA crowd chants "FIRE DON WEST!!!"

Don West is absolutely terrible. His voice just makes me want to mute my TV and he gets way to excited about EVERYTHING.

Don West: "OH MY GOD, UNREAL, HE GOT CREAMED, UNBELIEVABLE!"

Thats all he says, I cant stand him. Mike Tenay is great, but Don West is annoying as hell. I say replace him with Kevin Nash instead of letting Nash wrestle

Wth the deals of the day and stuff he almost reminds of a really enthusiastic banker who wants to get his fat hands on money I mean he shows that wrestrling is scripted
