2012 will be the Year of the Dog. DMX is set to return to music with a new album, due this spring.
The Yonkers MC, born Earl Simmons, will release his seventh studio album Undisputed on March 27 via United Music & Media Group. The first single, “Already,†will be officially released in the coming weeks.
According to a press release, the album will feature appearances from Busta Rhymes, Tyrese, and Jennifer Hudson, with production from Swizz Beatz and Deezle (“Lollipopâ€).
“Expect the unexpected. Expect the new improved,†his Ruff Ryders affiliate Swizz previously said of the project, X’s first since 2006’s Year of the Dog… Again. “Expect hip-hop. Expect real music. Expect the Dog to be back.â€
The embattled rapper was released from an Arizona prison in July after serving six months behind bars for a probation violation.
