I'm honestly really excited about this movie. It honestly looks like it could be the best of the summer. The aliens look pretty unique. Pretty interesting story from what I've heard as well. The viral marketing campaign for the movie has been great as well. With the propaganda commercials about the aliens and safe communities and such.
This movie looks prettty good. I'm going to see it. Don't know about movie of the summer though. Transformers 2 takes that for me. And the new G.I. Joe looks bad ass as well. Those 2 (imo) will be in contenders for movies of the summer.
Judging from the two trailers, it reminds me of a blend between Terminator Salvation and Independence Day as to how the setting.
Ex: wasteland setting, over the shoulder camera, subtitles, 5-mile wide alien ship, etc.

This movie is fucking amazing. The previews don't do it justice. But if they changed the previews it might spoil a few things so I can understand. I'm not even a fan of science fiction but really this film isn't all science fiction. It's nothing like all those other "alien" movies. It's presented in a realistic way. Believe it or not this movie has fantastic drama. But by drama I mean it's emotionally impactful. It's not really sad but you feel for the aliens in this movie and feel for the main character. I won't spoil the movie but go see it. The movie also has a little comedy but gets serious towards the climax. If you don't take my opinion read some reviews. We all know how harsh critics are and the fact that this movie has an average of 88% must mean they have really pulled something off.
