Previous Experience (For Wrestler): Biography (Wikipedia like)

Dios Máscara Jr. (born January 20, 1980), whose birth name is unknown, is a Puerto Rican luchador, currently seeking a contract in the US (not to be confused with Jorge Salazar “El Hijo de Dios Máscara”). Although he was born in Puerto Rico, he has been living in Mexico for the last 20 years of his life. He was trained by the late Armando Salazar, best known as Dios Máscara. He previously worked as Lagarto Poderoso for Salazar’s wrestling company before completing his training under him and thus earning Salazar’s respect, thing that lead to him being able to carry the “Dios Máscara” name. Dios Máscara Jr. is a former holder of the PRW Heavyweight Title and a 10 time cruiserweight champion.

-Early Life-

Little is known about Dios Máscara Jr. early days in Puerto Rico and in Mexico. All that is known thanks to interviews that have been made to him is that he moved from Puerto Rico to Mexico at age 12 because his father had a great job opportunity. At age 15 he started training under Armando Salazar, “Dios Máscara” and after his first four months started wrestling at Salazar’s wrestling company in Cancún under the name “Lagarto Poderoso”. After spending five years under that moniker Salazar gave him the rights to continue with the “Dios Máscara” legacy as “Dios Máscara Jr”; even if Salazar’s son was also training under him at the time.

-Dios Máscara Jr.-

-Mexico-

After earning the rights from Salazar to continue with the “Dios Máscara” legacy, he started competing all around Mexico. Earning respect from other wrestlers as he embodied the name to its fullest, even adopting Salazar’s own finishing maneuver “Máscara Special” to go along with his own finishing maneuver “El Juicio de Dios”, once known as “La Poderosa”. He earned the respect of the Mexican wrestling community and started wrestling for the best promotions in Mexico including the CMLL. In Mexico he won various title most notably the Mexican Regional Light-Weight Title, the Mexican National Trios Title and the World Cruiserweight Championship. His style of wrestling earned him a name all around Mexico and granted him a trip to Japan.

-Japan-

In Japan, Dios Máscara Jr., perfected his style of wrestling adding new variants to what was by now a well-rounded style. While in Japan he also won various titles most notably the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Titles, which he won in two separate occasions. His stay in Japan wasn’t long though and he went back to Mexico.

-Back in Mexico-

Once back in Mexico he started competing against bigger opponents than the last time he was there, earning shots at titles such as the CMLL Welterweight Title and CMLL World Title. He did only capture the Welterweight title but had to vacate them due to a car accident that almost took his life and produced the scar on his neck.

Once recovered he decided he did want to prove his ground in Puerto Rico, his true homeland.

-Puerto Rico-

In Puerto Rico he was received by WWC and like the star he was becoming. He had a lot of great matches all over the island. He defeated various opponents like Rey Gonzalez, El Bronco #1 and El Invader #1; all and all becoming one of the mainstays with the company. While on the Island he won the cruiserweight title on 4 separated occasions, won the Puerto Rican Heavyweight Championship and contended for the Universal Title.

After a year or so his contract with the company wasn’t renewed and thus he jumped to PRW where he won a tournament to decide who would become the PRW Heavyweight Champion. Thus earning himself his first Heavyweight Title and becoming the face of the company; but after a year or so in PRW he vacated the title and went back to Mexico.

-Back to Mexico-

Back on his adoptive homeland he was granted a number of opportunities to become World Champion and could only capitalize one time. Nonetheless his last tenure in Mexico was plagued with controversy as Salazar’s son, Jorge Salazar, started using the name “El Hijo del Dios Máscara” and found out that the Salazar family had filed a lawsuit against him for the rights to use the name.

-Lawsuit-

The Salazar Family wanted to have the name back to them, as Máscara Jr. wasn’t really part of the family. They filed a lawsuit against him for the rights to bear the name and asked one million in return for the damages done to the name. Dios Máscara Jr. ultimately prevailed on court when he showed a letter wrote and signed by Armando Salazar, who was very sick at the moment of the lawsuit, where he clearly stated that he wanted Dios Máscara Jr. to have the rights to the name and continue the legacy, not his son, because he saw that Dios Máscara Jr. had more passion for the sport than Jorge.

-Name and Career vs. Name and Career-

The Lawsuit lead to a match between Jorge Salazar “El hijo de Dios Máscara” and Dios Máscara Jr. where both wrestlers put their names and their careers on the line; the match really was decided on court as Dios Máscara Jr. won the match due to Salazar wanting to retire after the failed lawsuit. But the match didn’t settle things for Jorge and Dios Máscara Jr. as when Armando died, Jorge didn’t allow Dios Máscara Jr. to be anywhere near the funeral; something that stayed with Dios Máscara Jr. from that point on.

-Training Armando Salazar’s grandson-

Even though the Salazar family didn’t want him near anyone of their members, he sent a letter to the matriarch of the family, Josefina, where he said that he was truly disappointed in what have been happening between them and that Armando wouldn’t want them to be fighting over a name. The letter also stated that even if he had a son who wanted to be a wrestler, he understood that the legacy belonged to the Salazar family and thus wanted to train the grandson of Armando Salazar, his daughter older son who wanted to become a wrestler.

The matriarch accepted the offer and they let him train Salazar’s grandson, he passed the family signature hold the “Máscara Special” and he also taught him his own finisher “El Juicio de Dios”. The grandson of Salazar made his debut in Mexicali under the name of “El hijo de Dios Máscara Jr.” or as they now call him “Dios Máscara III”. In fact it was Máscara III who pushed Dios Máscara Jr. to pursue his dream of becoming a wrestling icon in the US, so with that encouragement Dios Máscara Jr. traveled to the US pursuing a dream that he though was impossible to achieve at his age.

Edited and gave him an alternate Pic Base... because I know that finding good images for graphics of Olímpico with mask (now that he's unmasked in CMLL) is a little hard.

Thanks. I'll see about finding some images of the new pic base.
