With this upcoming weekend being DGUSA's last active weekend of 2012, here's what to look forward to at this weekend's events, as well as the buildup to WrestleCon:

This is the final Dragon Gate USA weekend of 2012 so you can expect a lot of major happenings as The Road To WrestleCon kicks into high gear. Who will leave the weekend as Champions? What issues will explode? Who will increase their stock? Here's the skinny on what everyone has at stake:

Open The Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano: This is his first year anniversary as DGUSA Champion. He will be faced with a "best of" his first year challengers in a Four Way Elimination Match this Sunday. However, he also must watch out for Jon Davis. Check out this free video recap.

Open The United Gate Champions CIMA & AR Fox: The tag division in DGUSA is the deepest it's ever been. CIMA & Fox are coming off two successful title defenses in Japan last month and will have to face an even tougher challenge this Saturday. CIMA is also looking for revenge against Chuck Taylor on Friday and is looking forward to his first ever match vs. Sami Callihan on Sunday. Keep a close eye on the issue between Fox and Ricochet.

Ricochet: Things are heating up between AR Fox and Ricochet. It will be a Respect Match this Friday. The loser must shake the winner's hand and say he is the better man. These videos set the stage:
Free Video #1
Free Video #2

Sami Callihan: He seems ready to start a new chapter in his career. This intense, epic promo tells the whole story.

Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito: This respected veteran unit finally makes its return to DGUSA for the first time since the second ever event. This also marks Saito's East Coast debut. They add depth to the deep tag team division and could end the weekend on top of it.

Jon Davis: He has a new attitude and has made it clear he will "beat the hell" out of anyone who stands up to him, especially Johnny Gargano. Don't take our word for it, watch promo #1 and promo #2. Don't overlook his match this Friday against Akira Tozawa either.

El Generico: OLE! Generico returns to DGUSA for two potentially mind-blowing matches. It will be Generico vs. Callihan 2/3 Falls on Saturday in a rematch of their classic from EVOLVE 13. This one is personal for Generico after Callihan's post-match attack. Then Generico will team with his new partner Samuray Del Sol against Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito this Sunday. Does anything more really need to be said?

Chuck Taylor and Rich Swann: We listed these two former Ronin members together since their issue figures to be one of the hottest this weekend. They just plan don't like each other. If you saw their intense fight at DGUSA Untouchable 2012 you know that. They'll collide in a Captain's Match with high stakes this Friday with the ramifications being felt on Sunday.

Akira Tozawa: This elite talent gets another shot at the DGUSA Title this Sunday as his competitive rivalry with Johnny Gargano continues, but first he must face Jon Davis on Friday and then compete in a first-time-ever match vs. Samuray Del Sol on Saturday. Tozawa is a workhorse and will be put to the test this weekend, but he could walk out as Open The Freedom Gate Champion.

Samuray Del Sol: This is a huge weekend for Del Sol. He's in the "dream match" role in that he doesn't have any major issues going into this weekend, but he has a full plate of tough opponents in both singles and tag action.

Tag Team Division: We don't want to brag, so just look at this list of tag teams that will be in action this weekend: CIMA & AR Fox, El Generico & Samuray Del Sol, Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito, The Super Smash Brothers, The Gentleman's Club, CHIKARA Sekigun of Jigsaw & Fire Ant, The Scene, D.U.F., Ricochet & Rich Swann, Tony Nese & Papadon. Who will rise and fall in the tag division? Wins means everything.

Upcoming Talent: EITA is considered the brightest prospect in the Dragon Gate system and they are looking at him to follow in the footsteps of Tozawa, YAMATO and the other new generation stars. ACH is revered as the top prospect on the US independent scene. They headline the class of new, upcoming talent who will be in action this weekend that also includes wrestlers from NYWC and Top Rope Promotions.

I like the attitude of Jon Davis.

Also, the "Respect Match" should be good and the aftermath could be intense as hell.

I'm loving the promos. Now to try to watch these after the weekend without using torrents or paying for the iPPVs. It'll be interesting to see how all of these pan out over the weekend to get ready for 2013.
