WWE's Canadian DVD distributor KOCH is promoting a 3 Disc DVD covering the career of Randy "The Macho Man" Savage entitled "Macho Madness." This DVD was originally listed by WWE about a year ago, however was canceled for unknown reasons. Many speculate the DVD was originally pulled due to personal heat between Savage and Vince McMahon that have been long reported to exist, however nothing was ever confirmed. The new DVD is scheduled to be released on June 9th.

I don't really know anything about him. Never really seen him. Haven't they already made him a DVD?

Not that I know of. I'm gonna have to agree that I don't know much about Savage as well. I don't remember much from when I was little and when I watched WCW the whole nWo thing was just a giant blob. No individualism at all. It smeared my view of Mr. Perfect/Curt Hennig too.

i want this really bad - still waiting for him to be inducted into the HOF. I can't believe you guys are really saying you don't know who he is - WOW.

in what many consider to be one of the best Mania matches ever he fought Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat at WM3 and had a CRAZY ass feud with him too (best was when he jumped off the top rope with the ring bell and made Ricky almost swallow his tongue

won the belt at WM4 of Ted Dibiase (M$M)
main evented Mania5 against Hogan (Mega Powers Collide
had amazing feuds with Jake the Snake, Ric Flair and The Ultimate Warrior
his relationships with Elizabeth and Sherri are truly what having a female manager/lover are all about

his Macho King run was awesome as well

aye - can't say all he's done but I'm so sure this DVD will be worth the buy.

Yeah, Randy Savage is one of the greatest of all time. A DVD would be incredibly, though I think it needs 100% of the WWE's backing. I want some shoots from Flair, Hogan, and the like on him.

Chuck & CT just made me feel old. Savage was my favourite growing up. And I would love if this actually came out, though I will believe it when I see it. Savage was one of the best back in the day. By the time he went to WCW he was past his prime.

And no there is no DVD on Savage.

Now I realize I was thinking of the Billy Graham DVD as it's all colorful and hippy-like and that's kind of what I think of when I think of Savage. My mistake.

Well, my parents wouldn't let me watch wrestling from '88 to the beginning of '98. But still, I was only 4 when my ban occurred.

Savage was GOD!!!

Amazing face or heel, one of the best in ring perfomers of his era, one of the best athletes in wrestling during his prime and dynamite on the stick. Also fought the cause of the smaller guys in the ME during the big-man obbsessed 80's.

Great news.... He best be given the full 3 DVD treatment. Now get him inducted into the HOF already!

I just hope we can get some of Savage's pre WWE work on the DVD's. I've heard nothing but great things about his early career, so I'd like to see that.

I don't really know much about Savage, I wasn't watching wrestling when he was. I'd get this for my dad though cause he always asks where's he at after seeing guys like Flair and Sting still wrestling. He use to watch it in the 80's I think. But what did Savage do that pissed off Vince?

That's fantastic news. :y:

Maybe they can have him in the Legends of WrestleMania video game once they are done with the DVD. And WWE probably owns the rights to the Macho Man name, footage and such shit.. so the guy himself won't probably be involved in any sort of commentary or stuff. :(

tbh, I love the classic matches of Randy Savage, he should be in the Hall of Fame as well. He had a huge fan following back in the day and so this DVD has the potential of being a big moneymaker for WWE, they need to get Savage involved himself as well.

Vince will set aside vendetta's to make money.

Exactly.

^^^I don't think Vince does own the Macho Man character... He pretty much carried it over to WCW didn't he?

Wasn't Vince contractually retaining the character rights of his guys a REACTION to Hogan, Savage & co. (his long term franchise characters) jumping ship to WCW?

It would be hard to get Savage involved in a behind the scense project anyways. Savage lives his character 24/7.

And yes Savage owns the rights to his name, but Vince owns all his footage.
