Debate: Edge To Smackdown - Good Or Bad Move?

Edge is on the completely wrong brand.

The storyline of Edge being pissed that he was drafted to Raw is fine, but he isn't in the right place. For a few years now we've witnessed Edge in the main event and now he's on Raw and he's not in a proper storyline (I consider the WWE/Nexus thing to be between Cena and Barrett). I suggest a move back to Smackdown for Edge.

Smackdown is constantly dominated now by Kane, Mysterio and Swagger. If Edge was to move back to Smackdown, we'd see Kane vs. Edge and what if Edge revealed that infact he was the attacker of Taker? For several years now, Edge has carried the Smackdown brand and he's either been chasing the SD champion or he's been the champ. The fact that Edge doesn't do much on Raw is also a reason as to why you would move Edge to SD. The fact is that Edge isn't being used correctly and he isn't suited for Raw when there are many other wrestlers (Miz, Sheamus, Cena, Orton) who quite frankly, are much better than Edge.

I've seen Smackdown as the show that's headlined by Edge for a few years now and he's spent the majority of his time on that show - It's worked great for him so why not keep him there? Smackdown atm has an amazing mid-card (Something Raw lacks) and has a poor upper-card (Something Raw has), So if WWE were smart - They'd make some changes. One of those changes being Edge to Smackdown.

Edge coming back to SD! Would be great as long as he stays heel because face Edge was disgusting, all that "Spear! Spear! Spear! LULZ LUK @ Y2J HE CRYS NAOW!" stuff was horribly out of character in my opinion.

If he goes back to SD, he doesn't need to be in the title picture. Edge has been boring since before he was injured. He's done nothing refreshing. Nothing that makes me care about him. If he leaves, I wouldn't care. Him spending time in the mid card would be great. He could help elevate talent. But I'd rather he stay away from the title.

Swagger? He hasn't done jack shit since he lost the title. He started taking out Mysterio, but that was completely dropped and now Del Rio is doing it. And now he's feuding with a jobber. Wouldn't really call that dominating.

Edge is on the wrong brand @first guy... He was practically made a star on smackdown in the la familia storyline where he gained like 6 world titles or w/e (dont feel like looking it up) and then they moved him onto raw to share the light with orton, cena, jericho, sheamus, hhh, and "GACK" Wade Barrett... while edge could probably easily beat most of the top contenders on smackdown like kane, mysterio, maybe swagger and another edge vs taker match wouldn't be bad even though its happened alot.. an edge vs. del rio match would be enjoyable to me too.

It's hard to be the Rated R Superstar on a TV-PG show. There's just no edginess to Edge anymore (excuse the pun). Maybe if they try to revive the Ultimate Opportunist persona of his by becoming more of a sneaky heel it would breathe some new life into his character. I think a move to Smackdown would be nice for him, instead of being lost in the Raw shuffle.

It's funny because the somewhat face character Edge is portraying right now is what he should have been portraying when he first returned. And he should get the proper face run on SD! who is so short of main event talent. He can get a couple of fresh feuds out of Edge/Thwagger, Edge/Punk, Edge/Kane and Edge/Del Rio, especially Del Rio, the promos alone would make that feud awesome.

Agreed 100%. His face run was horrible and was less quality than his heel runs. I loved it when he was with Lita in 06 and took complete control of RAWs title picture for the year. 06 was possibly one of Edges best years. As for him moving to Smackdown, I would love him to be in the title picture - Possibly feuding with Taker once he's finished his program with Kane. Edge hasn't done anything worth noting in a year or so. Boring.

I am not sure if an Edge on Smackdown, as a heel would work, they already have more than enough heels. But his current tweener/somewhat face character I think should have been what they did with him from his return, instead of making him another bland face. And there are some great potential feuds, Del Rio/Edge or Punk/Edge (which I have wanted to see since he came to the WWE) both could be awesome. But honestly a person I would love to see Edge work with is Dolph Ziggler. There is something about him that I like, I am not quite sure what it is, but I think that Ziggler could get a huge rub off a program with Edge, even if he doesn't come out on top, I also feel that he could have a great feud with somebody like Evan Bourne or Kofi Kingston, the change of style could really help him, he has been really doing the same kind of in-ring match for going on 3 years now.

I'd actually love to see Edge off of my TV, period. He does nothing for me at all, whether he's heel or face. He's boring as fuck. I was actually excited when he returned at RR but that excitement faded as I realized he is no different than he was when he initially got hurt.

MAYBE if they had a feud between him and Punk, I would be interested. It would be lulz to have them bring up that whore, Lita.

He wasn't boring in 2006. It's only recent where he's toned himself down (Naturally, Because of PG) so he can't be his Rated R character. On his debut night, He was discussing some things like being rated R but he can't because he'd need to change his gimmick to Rated PG in order to get any airtime. His gimmick in 2006 was perfect because it was a ruthless character who had it all - Lita, Championship, Air time and I'd love it to return but it won't until PG is dropped.

In 2006-2008 I loved Edge, he was arguably the best heel in the company. But after that my love for Edge started to fade, I am not sure if it was so much the PG, which his 'Rated R' gimmick could still work, he would just have to get alot more creative imo or just the pure boredom of him already doing everything. I loved his run with La Familia and his inital runs while feuding with Cena, but other than that many of his feuds/reigns as champion have been kind of boring.
