I always thought of CM Punk as the Vegeta of the WWE, always trying to better the boring supernatural powers of Goku "Cena" LOL

I forgot the Garlic Jr. Saga in my previous post. Interesting concept/set-up but failed in execution.

''they completely killed being a Super Saiyan at this point''
Good point, I'm surprised they didn't make Pan a super saiyan :dawg:

Would love to know your opinion on the finale if you ever get the urge to express it.

Yeah, I know, right? Fun fact; according to some sources one of the reasons Pan never became a Super Saiyan was because Akira Toriyama couldn't figure out how to draw a woman Super Saiyan. Apparently boobs fuck up spiky blond hair.

Certainly, and the vast majority of my problems all center around Uub. For one, I understand why but Goku suddenly even wanting Kid Buu to be reincarnated as a good person strikes me as odd. Once again, Kid Buu was like the weakest Buu, with only the fat Buu we end up with as the only one possibly weaker, he was only the biggest threat because he was crazy. So I'm not sure why it'd be him and I don't quite understand why this is the first time he's done it with a main villain, but that's minor cause it does make sense it just always struck me as odd.

My first problem comes with the fact that he's reincarnated in the first place. Okay, Bibidi created Buu not by excessive thrusting but by magic. I have some problem accepting that magic born creatures can be reincarnated but that's not the main problem. Assuming magic born creatures can reincarnate, wouldn't the thing have to die, because he created Buu from magic (I'm foggy on the details as I don't think they give them) but Buu didn't die. Only part of him did. It's like when someone has that ability to create clones of themselves and you kill one of the clones that clone can't be reincarnated because the person's spirit is still alive. Buu's spirit is still alive, yes Kid Buu has a different personality but they're both from the same spell, they're both same being pretty much. And it's not some vague thing they've outright confirmed Uub is the reincarnation of Kid Buu which again I think is stupid for a reason hopefully I've made clear. My best guess is that it was the Other World's way of repaying Goku or some shit like that but even that has it's problems.

Also, his name. I can't be the only one to think what are the freakin' odds that the reincarnation of Kid Buu is literally named the exact opposite spelling of Buu? I understand people sucking with coming up with names but really? I know it's minor but still.

Anyway my main problems come with the ending. Goku's decision to leave all his friends and family for years on end only to visit them every once and awhile to train Uub to A) become the next guardian of Earth/Universe & B) so he can face him . . . Dick! I mean seriously, that is a dick move on Goku's part, because let's be honest B is probably his main reason, so basically he is leaving his loved ones mainly because he wants to fight Kid Buu without the goal of killing him. I know he said he'll visit and option A is still at least still a motive but really he spent so little time with his family throughout the series (something the hilarious abridged series brings up) mostly for being dead but now he's going to ditch them for this. He doesn't have to live there to train him, he could've taken him into the Hyberbolic Time Chamber, I mean I'm pretty sure it was fixed at that point. But yeah, that was a totally dick move but everyone beyond that, I have a gripe with A.

If the show had ended at the Cell arc like it was going to (it was also going to end at the Frieza arc too) then it would've ended with Goku passing the torch to Gohan. And then Dragon Ball Z would be known as the portion of the story where it's about Gohan becoming the next hero of the Earth and it worked for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that it was being built up throughout the series so it made sense and didn't come out at the last minute. We saw Gohan's bout of incredible strength throughout the series, we saw his development as a character, we saw all this happening and it made his match with Cell fantastic and made the ending work wonderfully. In the Buu arc, that's gone, because now Gohan wants to settle down and yeah that's his character it would've happened regardless but that doesn't mean he can't still be the hero. This arc could've focused on showing him in the main light but of course it doesn't because it's DBZ we need to focus on Goku (who I do love by the way), he needs to be the hero at the end (despite Gohan, after getting his true power released for the twentieth time, has been confirmed as the strongest non-fused character). And because of that the passing the torch to Gohan is gone and you can't do that again, and at this point I think Akira Toriyama realized the best ending was one where Goku passes the torch so who can you pick?

The logical choice here would initially be Goten. Because else-wise what's his overall purpose. But of course that don't go that route, which has to partly be because the way the story was constructed nobody would've bought it. And I don't necessarily mind it because most likely if they went that route Goten would've been a mary sue. But what I don't like is that it ultimately, made Goten a pointless character. Like all he really accomplishes is making Buu stronger, that ends up being his most significant moment in the series. Well, that and introducing the fusion concept.

So, to wrap up this ramble, in conclusion I dislike it because they felt the need to end it in a way that Goku passes the torch to somebody and due to already doing it with Gohan and Goten being a waste, they end up having the bad guy get reincarnated as a good guy, despite whether or not it makes total sense, just so they can have that ending despite hardly getting any kind of development from Uub himself. It just felt forced in the end.

Oh, and one more thing, if you consider GT canon, and I don't, but if you do, it makes things even more hilarious since Uub practically amounts to nothing in that to. I think at best, he's a stall and I think he saves Gohan during the Super 17 saga, and don't get me started on how pissed I was that Gohan got curb-stomped there. So yeah, Goku knows how to pick them!

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves making a DBZ thread and only saying, `Trunks da best``

Anyways, Dragonball Z is probably the best show I`ve ever seen. Dragonball was a bit to pervy, no wonder deth likes it. But I really liked the Piccolo saga and it was probably the best saga out of all shows. As for Dragonball Z, my favourite character has to be Gohan when he was facing Cell.
Also I got emotional when Spopovich drained his energy at the tournament during the Majin Buu saga.
Dragonball GT was kinda a disappointment, but we saw the return of Emperor Pilaf, Cell, Frieza, Nappa, Android 17, ect. in which I marked out for.
Super Sayian 4`s outfit is pretty dope though. :fap:

Anyways :
Dragonball 8.7 out of 10
Dragonball Z 9.5 out of 10
Dragonball GT 8.2 out of 10

Oh god, their appearance was awful. I hated that the changed Frieza's Destructo Disk color to yellow just so Goku could mock him for copying Krillin (also hated Goku riding it). And Goku mocking Cell for using Piccolo's technique was really stupid, that's Cell's thing and Cell likes his ability to use other peoples moves. It just felt like that bout was treated as a joke, and they were better than that but DBZ did it all the time to. Like in Fusion Reborn how Gohan blows Frieza up with one punch (why did Frieza explode again?).

Which I'm just going throw this out there, why did they never get stronger? I'm fine with them not being able to catch up but it seemed they never got stronger. Goku's proved you can get stronger while dead, and hell Cell has Saiyan blood all he'd have to do is get someone to keep beating him to near death (which sounds ridiculous but it can happen) and then get better, and he should be able to actually keep up if he finds someone who's okay doing that.

I'm sorry, I've got to stop bitching.

Well, technically speaking Cell has been called "The Ultimate Android" in-series before.

But meh, saga's are just subsections of Arcs and I tend to use them interchangeably despite that being wrong. The best arc is the Cell arc but my favorite saga is either the Androids or Cell Games.

And finally, since the new movie was brought up, I'm going to post everything I know about it that I didn't see posted here . . .

Toei Animation's website for next March's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami) film was updated on Monday with a story introduction:

The story is set several years after the battle with Majin Buu. Birusu, the god of destruction who has maintained the balance of the universe, has awakened from a long slumber. Hearing rumors of a Saiyan (Saiya-jin) who defeated Freeza, Birusu comes looking for Goku.

Excited that a powerful oponent has appeared after so long, Goku ignores King Kai's advce and challenges Birusu in a battle. However, Goku is no match for Birusu's overwhelming power and is defeated. Birusu leaves after uttering an ominous message, “Is there anyone on Earth more worthy to destroy?” Will Goku and the others really be able to stop the God of Destruction?!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is set between the 517th and 518th installments of Akira Toriyama's original manga. Specifically, it is set during the "lost decade" of story time after the end of the battle with Majin Buu. Kuririn, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan, and other familar characters will appear in the film with an all-star cast. The film is not a spinoff, but a story in the official history of Dragon Ball. The film will open in Japan on March 30.

The site also notes that Akira Toriyama's original Dragon Ball manga has sold over 230 million copies worldwide. The next batch of advance tickets for the film will go on sale on December 15 with two different sets of three Dragon Ball-shaped pens.

Akira Toriyama has been deeply involved in the film's story and designs from the early screenwriting stages. Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z episode director, Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun) is directing at Toei off a script by Y?suke Watanabe (live-action 20th Century Boys trilogy, Gantz, Bloody Monday, Future Diary).

I have no idea when it'll be dubbed though, hopefully soon so I don't have to watch it subbed (though I imagine I will). Still, excited as fuck for this!

The story line sounds like it will be good. I never got into the GT thing. Seems like the time jump and the fact that Goku became a little boy... meh. Its like they ruined it for me. They also Cody Rhodes'd the crap out of Vegeta...
