Darby Allin says he believes climbing Mount Everest is the "next rush" he's been searching for.
The 30-year-old spoke to TMZ Sports recently and said he wants to continue to do things no wrestler has ever done before. This includes tackling the world's tallest mountain.
"The thing I'm going to be doing next year that no wrestler's done before is climb Mount Everest," Allin said. "You heard it here first."
He continued to say that he's thankful AEW gives him the freedom to do such things outside the ring.
"AEW gives me something that no other company can give me and that's the freedom to go crazy outside the ring, do my stuff. I'm telling your right now, no other company would let me skate with Tony Hawk or go crazy at Nitro Circus with [Travis] Pastrana or stuff like that."
Over 300 people have died attempting to climb Mount Everest. From 1923 to 1999, over 14% of people who attempted the feat did not survive. However, with recent advancements in equipment and weather forecasting, the death rate has since declined to 1.2%.
Should Allin decide to go through with climbing Everest next year, it would mean he would need to take time away from AEW. On average, the climb takes two months to complete.
Before he has a chance to climb Everest, Allin has an opportunity to become AEW World Champion. He'll challenge MJF in a four-way match with Jungle Boy and Sammy Guevara at AEW Double or Nothing later this month.
