Not the correct usage of colons ^

Had to do it, sorry.

Rule 4
Use a colon instead of a semicolon between two sentences when the second sentence explains or illustrates the first sentence and no coordinating conjunction is being used to connect the sentences. If only one sentence follows the colon, do not capitalize the first word of the new sentence. If two or more sentences follow the colon, capitalize the first word of each sentence following.

American grammar ftl.

Going to risk answering the OP without actually reading the posts. He is called a "joke" because his character demonstrates the typical comedic character now, with segments with Dr Shelby being proof of that. Also, he more or less jobs every match now -- apart from irrelevant tag-team championship matches -- which further puts forward the "joke" euphoria.

If you mean "joke" as in a wrestling character that is going no where and has no future, then of course he's not. Where is he even considered a joke like that? Because all I see is people posting about how good he is and that he should be pushed. The thread is rather hard to reply to because of the context of "joke".

Crayo jobs to me in grammar discussion like always and then acts like American grammar is so different from UK grammar.

::leaves thread satisfied::

1) Like always? Your first point in history. Mark over it.
2) Actually, by your American grammar law, you still failed. You capitalised "Comedy" when you weren't supposed to.
3) UK grammar doesn't allow such a rule. The colon is used to introduce an idea, a list, or quoted material.

I naturally didn't know American grammar was different.

Another point for me.

Well he is not booked like he was in ROH,he is being made to look like a goof by wwe.

Is he really? I don't see it. I have watched both his ROH and WWE careers and he doesn't come off as overly goofy now. His resume of matches he has partaken in and things he has done negates the idea that he is a goof un thus unable to be taken as a serious threat (See Santino and Heath Slater).

Like some said, he is comedic, but doesn't necessarily make him a joke. Chris Jericho was comedic for stints of his career, as was the Rock and Kurt Angle. And Bryan is still being taken as a serious contender in as good as all matches he wrestles in. His win/loss record also speaks against the assumption that he jobs.

I think he's a comedy character, but also a strong character. When he wrestles he still has a great move set, and whenever there's fighting in promos he looks strong. He also does win a good amount of matches even if he does take pins for Team Hell No. His character though is funny with the anger problem and the "yes/no" thing.

I never said he jobs,He is a submission specialist and all he really uses is the labell lock, and he only beats minor talent most of the time with that move, maybe i am expecting too much at what is still an early stage of his wwe career.

Just don't think there is enough emphasis on his submission skills.

He was in backstage segments with a puppet and this whole goat thing is making him into a joke. Don't get me wrong some things have been funny but it should of stopped ages ago.

So you're saying that with his current gimmick he'd be taken seriously if he was going to face say The Rock, Lesnar, or Taker?

It's the character he portrays..

That's it. If he would be an agressive persona without all the yes and no shit, he wouldn't be near something as a ''joke''.

^By that logic Kurt Angle wouldn't have been seen as a serious contender when he was strutting around with the cowboy hat. Or the Rock would have been considered a joke when teaming with Foley.

That's another story. Another time, another place, another era.

They had their own style besides that who were serious and agressive.

When Bryan is agressive, he always ends it with a yes or no..

Screaming yes or no doesn't take away from the seriousness. It's a battle cry when used in the ring.

Busting out the "another era" excuse is a cheap way out. Bryan just like Kurt and Rock has a serious side which comes out when he steps out in the ring. Him screaming yes or no at the end of his strikes or kicks doesn't make him a joke.

Then why do you make a thread asking why he's a joke?

Cheap way to get loads of replies? :pity2:

Please tell me, why he is a joke..
