Guess I'm usually against avoiding angles like this, but it really has to be done, Lockard. Gotta do something to put heat on the Authority since it doesn't feel like they have any right now.
This is correct. There has to be something done to get the heel spotlight back where it belongs since the "Universe" doesn't seem to be sure who the main bad guy is.
The only thing I disagree with (in fact, I'm not even sure it would be legal due to corporate disclosure laws) is the idea of putting it on wwe.com that Bryan had been fired. I don't think they should (or could, for that matter) actually do that. And I know the firing angle has been done a ton of times, sometimes successfully and sometimes not, but if they put word out that this angle is what brought Bryan and Punk "back to the WWE", it would be an entertaining enough angle to get the job done. The only concern I have is that, if there's an Undertaker match at Mania, this would necessitate it being pushed to a tertiary "main event", as both the Orton/Bryan/Batista and Punk/HHH matches would have to be placed on the card above it.
