Dana White: Wanderlei Silva won't accept UFC's offer to fight Chael Sonnen

Hold the phone on the much-anticipated grudge match between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva.

A day after White said on "FOX Sports Live" that he will try to book Sonnen vs. Silva at UFC 167 on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas, White told MMAFighting.com that the bout is currently in jeopardy.

"[Silva] said he won't fight him unless he gets PPV [points] so I guess he's gonna retire," White wrote via text message.

When asked what he plans on doing with Sonnen next, White wrote, "we will figure it out."

Silva wasn't available to comment on the situation.

The Sonnen-Silva feud has been brewing for two years ever since Silva posted a video of him confronting Sonnen about his comments about Brazil and his fellow Brazilian fighters on a media tour.

Sonnen called out Silva one more time moments after he submitted Shogun Rua at UFC Fight Night 26 last Saturday night in Boston.

Just pull Machida from his fight that was just announced and put him against Chael.

Or just give Wandy some PPV points. Really got to start probing into the UFC payscale because it is seriously one sided. Also look into them taking points from fighters sponsorship agreements as well. Shady fucks are still making monet hand over fist, but still low ball their fighters, and boxing isn't drawing as much as UFC in North America, but their fighters make infinitely more for PPVs. Somethings fucky in the state of Nevada.

Why not give the points? Shoot he should know the fight is gonna deliver. It isn't like Silva is gonna tense up and stay back and be like... take me down Sonnen. It is gonna be a fight that is gonna draw.

So in a fight pitting one of the most beloved fighters of all time, a guy who guarantee's excitement more than any other fighter in MMA history versus a guy who draws attention to himself more than almost anybody the UFC cant give out a few PPV points? As Deezy said, the UFC make a fuck ton of money and they still lowball their fighters as much as possible. Boxing is supposedly a dead sport but the big PPV draws in boxing make 20 times more than the biggest draws in MMA do. Give Wandy a few more bucks, he's worth it.

Only reason he's even in the same discussion as ranked fighters is because Chael called him out. He should thank whatever god he prays to that he got matches with a feather-fister in Sonnen and Dana didn't go ahead with the planned Belfort fight.

Chael Sonnen is a journeyman who pulls off some good wins but can never be a champ. Shonie Carter but not flashy.

More Wandy embarrassment. He had the chance to fight Chael and put a beating on him like he keeps posturing about, but he backed out. Needs to step up or shut up to be honest.
