An update from Australia, specifically the state of New South Wales. Our premier has opened up a lot of stuff, with just minor restrictions (masks inside, distancing etc).
Thursday Jan 13 - 92,264 positive cases [61, 387 rapid-gen; 30,877 PCR]; 21.6% triple-vaxxed, 93.7% double vaxxed
Friday Jan 14 - 63,018 positive cases [37,938 RG; 25,080 PCR]; 22.9% boost, 93.8% double
Saturday Jan 15 - 48,768 cases [21,748 RG; 27,020 PCR]; 24.2% boost, 93.8% double
Sunday Jan 16 - 34,660 cases [13,682 RG; 20,978 PCR]; 25.4% boost, 93.8% double
Monday Jan 17 - 29,504 cases [11,868 RG; 17,646 PCR]; 26.1% boost, 93.8% double, 95.2% single
As of today, 82.1% of children aged 12-15 are 1 dose, 78.3% are double dose. In one week (they started Jan 10), 13.1% of children aged 5-11 have 1 dose.
Kinda smashing it from my perspective. Yeah, we have a huge shortage on the rapid-gens, but if you can't find them you just got get the PCR and wait like 12 hours for a result.
Modelling and forecasting says we'll be through this wave by mid-February.
