Regardless, I'm not wholly surprised to see McGregor caught up in yet another scandal. The guy is a walking PR nightmare and notorious piece of shit.

If the footage is magically missing, they have the pretty concrete evidence to use against them for sure. Because I wouldn’t believe a single excuse they gave for why the footage evaporated.

That's my other hangup on it. Why would Arena security of all people be involved? Unless Connor up and bribed them to go along with allowing him to rape someone in their arena.

If I may speak impartially, regarding how this could proceed, the two biggest factors going into this case are going to be A.) if Connor McGregor's DNA is found on the victim (since for the purposes of argument he did, in fact, do the deed, and left some of his... stuff, on her) and she reported to a hospital or police department for a rape kit, and B.) if there's video evidence of her being dragged into the bathroom and being kept from being able to leave, and Connor McGregor entering it.

Part A is probably going to be the easiest, but at the same time, sadly the most circumstantial. Connor's group is obviously going to deny the allegations and say it never happened. If Connor's DNA is in fact found on her, then it's sadly going to switch to it being consensual.

Part B is going to be the more difficult. If the video does exist and comes into the DA's possession, then Connor doesn't really have an excuse, and neither does the security staff. The video of the event in question being available for the DA is going to be the key piece of evidence. If they can't get that video, I do very much fear that if it goes to trial Connor would not be found guilty of it, since the "consensual" defense would sure make some juries sympathize with him. Then the problem becomes if the video is missing, why, and how?

The whole case stinks from top to bottom, and if witnesses do attest to the fact that security was in fact refusing people to enter a certain bathroom within the arena, that just seals the deal that stadium security was involved. Just observing the basic facets of this case, either she is lying completely in such a way to where it's a concrete slam dunk (this I personally don't believe, but stating as a possibility), or Connor McGregor bribed/conspired with NBA's stadium security to rape a woman who he didn't even know.

Either way, fuck Connor McGregor.
