^Ah, I see. Good to know, I haven't been following any news about the show's continuation since season four and I fear googling it will just end up with me getting spoilers on it.

Had to come on here the second I've read this. Since we were talking about Arrested Development in the Community thread, it seems only fitting that today I found out that David Cross will be guest-starring on a new Community episode. I think when I last posted about the show, I wasn't huge on Tobias but that was very early on (I think I just got to the never-nude plot, which I really liked) but that's no longer the case and he's become one of my favorites (the blue man group stuff was pure gold) though GOB is still the best.

Tobias carries the show for me along with GOB who is my #2. I am a huge David Cross mark,, will love seeing him on Community.

He is on Community?

Yeah really s4 is just catching up with some characters while enjoying David Cross being so awesome. G.O.B is such a damn boss too, he really fucked it up with his movie decisions.

Tobias and G.O.B's episodes are great, the rest aren't bad but aren't anywhere near AD standard, like I said though, they couldn't get contracts for every character for every episode so they had to do something different, now they know it doesn't work so will hopefully wait for the actors to be able to give full attention to AD. Also, this won't be a problem for the movie, which I have high hopes for.
I think people had too high of standards. All of the episodes were decent tv, they just weren't the amazing shit people were used to/had convinced themselves of while rewatching the first few seasons.

How many shows do you know have done what AD has done/is doing? Honestly it's great for them to be back, and for people to hate and bitch about it is just sad. Anyone who watched it originally or has enjoyed it since really has to give respect to the fact it stays true to the tv style. Nothing really changed outside of the video quality, and i don't care about it.

Seriously, compare AD s4 to shit like Scrubs last season, the office immediately after Michael Scott left, or shows that went on too long. Arrested Development is one of the shows like Family guy. It was shit on and deserves so many more seasons, and a decade later, we were given it through a different source. Netflix is boss for doing work, and the writing is very similar to the style, as most of the actors/writers/producers have been consistent. I don't think the new season has been amazing but I am happy as hell they made it. That's the point i think people are missing. S4 > No s4.

I don't see why you get so defensive about people's opinions on shows. It just felt off to me. I don't think I expect too much. I simply didn't watch S4 after the Tobias/GOB episodes. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I did not. I can't really tinker my enjoyment level just because I want to somehow prove how cool of a bro I am about AD. I'll definitely be looking forward to the movie once that comes to fruition

AD on a whole is awesome, anyone who knows anything about comedy can see that, and even though I didn't mind the 4th season, it's nowhere near AD quality, you can see that the quality is still there though so that's why atm I'm blaming contracting issues rather than the show itself, it's still and most likely will remain my favorite comedy as season 1-3 were hilarious, especially the Save Our Bluth's episode. I'm almost certain the movie will be back to it's best and hopefully the planned resuming of the seasons after that will be great again as if the movie is succesful then I can't see why the actors wouldn't want to give it their full attention.
