Now that AJ's back, I imagine his return will be in the near future. Hopefully he wrestles and performs better than he did prior to his latest departure since he was sloppy at times in the ring.

I'd be fine with Punk back if he wasn't the bland babyface he normally turns out to work as. If he stayed away I can't say I'll be upset though.

It will be interesting to see what his new look will be like upon his return (if it does indeed happen)
I can recall, on this very site, a discussion centered around CM Punk's ever changing and ever evolving look.
I've not seen a mohawk from him yet (inb4 somebody gif/image googles), so that alone is thread worthy in this day and age
Punk has great ring psychology and can get his character over fantastically. Love him or hate him, everybody shares an opinion.
He should heal as best as possible considering he doesn't take pain killers (or so he says).

On the other hand, he could easily arrange to become the part-timer he always despised to anyone who listened

A very hypocritical thing to do if you ask me

You mean like the time The Rock said, upon returning in 2011, '...You have my word, I am never, ever going away.'
Everybody eventually has to go part-time, it's largely unavoidable.

I get that. But with Punk, he rants about part timers all the time and hates that they win all the big matches. Basically, part timers is the main reason Punk walked out. If he were to come back and sign as a part timer, he'd be the biggest hypocrite in all of wrestling today. The Rock is a completely different story, he's doing movies. Lesnar, he owns some of the stock of Jimmy Johns, owns and runs some farmland in Minnesota, both Dakotas and Canada. What does Punk do?

That's the beauty of CM Punk isn't it? Don't you think this the type of 'douchy' thing he would do?
The one thing he hasn't done yet is go corporate. I don't see him going to the 'dark side' completely (i.e wearing a suit), but I do think he enjoys being a heel and trying something unique.

He could end up 'managing' AJ. I think you may be downplaying how big of a d*** CM Punk can potentially be.
CM Punk is basically twenty years younger version of Bret Hart. If Bret's a tool, what does that make Punk?
I have no problem with Punk at all. It wouldn't be smart to go full time, nor should his body have to endure it.

As for your question, what does Punk do? Honestly, he does geeky comic book-vampire crap and not much else. That's pretty much his common theme.

You're right, part timers coming back and winning all the big matches, is probably one of the main reasons he left, if not the main one.
There are only 3 people who know why he left and that's Vince, Hunter and Punk himself.

Yes, if Punk were to come back as a part timer, that'd make him the biggest hypocrite indeed, 'cause he's always been vocal about part-timers coming back.

I'd like to think that Punk's coming back, maybe next year or maybe in two years' time... As a full timer, yes.
He really should've won this year's RR and gone to face Orton and DBry for the WWE-WHC at WM30. If that'd happened, maybe he wouldn't have left in the first place.

Man, I think part-timer Punk would be a killer ROH gimmick. I'd enjoy that a lot, even though it's not happening. As far as WWE goes, he seems to be a guy set on his ways, at least. I still don't really understand why he left, taking a stand against part timers I kinda understand but I really don't see how he was badly mistreated before leaving. He was going to work with Hunter, that's like the #2 or #3 WM spot, and at that point his work didn't make him deserve more than that.

I believe his injuries, lack of innovative insight from the company and quick fixes were the reason he walked.
He probably wants input on his angles and who wouldn't?

Speculation is speculation. And speculation is fine for what it is. But don't put too much stock in it.

And everything that's been said about why Punk left has been just that: speculation. This has been said on here before (by others and me, including, I think, earlier in this thread), but Punk, HHH, and VKM are the only guys who have the first real clue why Punk walked out. And none of those guys are talking publicly about it (Vince has even told WWE stockholders, people he's not allowed by law to lie to, that Punk is on "sabbatical").

I'll take the words/ideas expressed by Paul Heyman on SCSA's podcast as the closest thing to gospel we're likely to get:

When Austin asked Heyman for his insight, Heyman said that he had received "a couple of perspectives" about what happened in that meeting (he refused to elaborate, but I would venture to guess that one of them was Punk's and the other one was probably HHH's, but that's a complete coin flip) and that as long as those three men remain silent about it, nobody will really know what happened in that meeting.

As for him coming back, I've said my piece on that. I hope he does. I think he will. And if/when he does, I'll enjoy his return and whatever he does as a member of WWE (I'm something of a fan of his, if you hadn't heard). If he never returns and I, SCSA, Heyman, Foley, and hundreds of others who've commented on it are all wrong, then it is what it is: he's retired, and I wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors.

wk

P.S.: Since I'm writing this 45 minutes before Raw, watch him come back tonight.

When you've watched an individual for (however many) years' you can get a feel for why that person may take a particular action.

I don't have to know WacoKid personally to realize if he's gone from the site a bit, it's probably family related (I'm JC4Life37 by the way). The dude seems like a good citizen.

When I theorize about Punk or Vince its because their behavior has followed a particular format and their words speak volumes about their views on life

I'm not disagreeing with anybody, but theories and speculation can clearly be wrong or many times have a great deal of truth to them

Point well taken.
