Via Fansided: We have known now for quite some time that the contract of one CM Punk with WWE would be expiring any day this month. Well it seems as if that contract may have indeed expired either on Tuesday or late Monday night because he has been officially moved to the WWE.com Alumni page.
Punk infamously walked out on the company the night after the Royal Rumble and he has not been heard from in a wrestling sense ever since. He has made a few public appearances, but none in a professional wrestling fashion.
Week in and week out, the crowds continually chant his name at random times throughout the live events, hoping that he will one day oblige their wishes and come down the ramp to the infamous “Cult of Personality†music. But now, it seems that he is no longer affiliated with the company in any fashion and that won’t be happening anytime soon.
The Second City Saint took the world by storm in 2011 when he cut his pipe bomb promo at the end of a RAW on John Cena, making people recognize how great of a talent he really was. He became the most unlikely face of the company in WWE history.
However, lately, it appears that he was just simply burnt out. He was no longer happy being in the business that he loved as a child, so having created some financial stability for himself throughout the years, he just simply went home.
Via Bleacher Report: This could either mean everything or nothing at all: WWE has transitioned CM Punk from the "Superstars" section on WWE.com to the "Alumni" page as of Tuesday night.
You can see an image of the webpage below, with Punk wedged in between Christy Hemme and Crash Holly, per The Fan's Podcast:
Ouch. Looks like hes finally moved from the main roster to WWE Alum. I figure his contract is ending really soon, so they just threw him in there, with the idea that he's not coming back. And he isn't. But could this be WWE's way of casting a shadow on Punk until his belated Return? Thoughts?
