As far as the WHC goes, before Punk came back, Gunther just seemed like the right guy imo. Now they don’t really have another option.

That is simply not true. They have more than enough viable options, it's still 2 months until Mania after all. People are way too conditioned into thinking that the key Mania (Title-)Matches have to be set in stone and always be at least halfway done with the build already when the Rumble is over. ...especially with Elimination Chamber between it.

I mean heck... If Seth is too hurt to work Mania, then give Priest the title asap and have him defend it at Mania against Sami... or let Priest cash in the MITB beforehand to secure himself the Match at Mania because he's all tired and shit about all the missed opportunities. There is a shit ton you could do, it's not depending on one or two people alone.

Well they don’t have to do a Chamber for that. The only reason a chamber was originally thrown around was to get Cody to Smackdown. Gunther and Seth both on Raw, no need for that. He can just get it.

yeah idk why ppl think it HAS to be set at Elimination Chamber or Rumble. The WHC can be defended for any storyline reason they see fit, it doesn't have to be done at Elimination Chamber, where the main draw is just gonna be Rhea anyways

its true , i think it's just what made the most sense for ppl fantasy booking Punk winning the rumble because a lot of ppl didnt think they would have cody back to back

Yeah, I definitely didn’t and past history has even had this happen before, so it made logical sense in my head to get Cody to Mania. Then they just said fuck it and gave him the Rumble. So it makes Raw side of things easier. No need to do anything for anyone to move brands.
