I've always treated Doctors and Bodyguards as two separate roles. Doctors heal, Bodyguards take a shot for someone

the way Blaine seemed eager to claim at the first hint of pressure and be like "get off my back" didnt seem contrived at all. seemed like he thought 3x doctor was more important than it really is in a high powered game likely filled with X shot stuff.

and also Bodyguard elsewhere is often someone who dies in place of the protection target.
