Christian got a huge pop on SD this week, arguably the loudest of the night. Now I'm not naive, I know SD isn't live and WWE often edit in crown noise but the pop did seem legit. Either way, I think this is great for the IC champ. If it was a real pop for Christian then the Peeps are getting behind him more than ever; on the other hand, if the pop was edited into the show then WWE have big plans for him. Either way, the IC title and the Cody Rhodes feud might just be a stepping stone back to the WHC picture.

Let's face it, there isn't an over-flow of main eventers in the locker room right now and Christian has everything it takes to be the top babyface on SD; he can talk, he's a great wrestler, he's one of the most experienced guys in WWE and he's over.

Do WWE have enough faith in him though.....???

Agree with you mate . Christian does look to have a good future . The fact that he won IC title the same night he came back shows that company have big plans for him. ANd during this time when the roster is so thin , it would be really stupid of WWE if they doesnot elevate him to Main event statues . But in short-future i dont see him getting a title shot . He just won the IC title a month ago and i think he keep it for another good month or 2 . But then again you never know , what Vince has in his mind.

For now I think that this is the best position for him and WWE. It allows him to ease his way back into the show and help make the IC title mean more. It is huge for the division to get a big name like Christian as champion he has already had a good match with Cody Rhodes and this would end up being a good feud to create more interest in the division. What they really need to do is make sure that he defends the title regularly, on PPV and on Smackdown. The issue that many had with Rhodes title reign was that he never defended the title on television, he had some big feuds but they were almost always non-title.

In the future I can certainly see Christian moving back into the World title picture. He is clearly one of the most over faces on Smackdown and he is a great wrestler, he has the whole package and I think that he could excel if given the chance to mainevent as a face.

Christian has always been surprisingly over. He's a solid upper card act but imo just can't be "the" guy. Unless he does something drastically different, he's never going to get further than he's gotten.

I don't think that he can be the number one guy in the company either but I do think that he could be a good world champion on Smackdown.

As IC champion I hope that WWE already has someone lined up to challenge for his title after Rhodes. I don't want to see him wrestling random matches each week, give him a proper feud. If it was up to me I would use take this opportunity to help put over an up and comer, his next opponent should be either Damien Sandow or Antonio Cesaro. They would both be excellent opponents for him and after Rhodes are the next best midcard heels on the brand. Damien Sandow and Christian trading dueling promos would be something to see and I think that they would be able to pull off some good matches.

I agree he should remain IC champ for quite a while, I'd be happy with him going into Survivor Series or the Rumble as champ. As for who his next feud should be with; I'd like to see what he could do for Drew McIntyre's career. If Drew were to upset Christian in a non-title match, become no. 1 contender and get a one month feud out of it, it would do wonders for Drew and would keep the IC title relevant.

Tensai would be my second choice.

I agree with most of the above, The fans do like the guy and he is in a great position as a face IC Champ. Do think he'll keep it for a while. Once Sheamus drops the WHC, I could see him in that picture as well.

He can be a great asset in the main event but I still don't think the higher ups respect him very much(he was only given his title run last year because of Edge, remember). I don't see his feud with Rhodes as something for him to jump back in the main event either. I think it's more about Rhodes getting that chance while working with a top talent in the meantime. Also, I think WWE hurts Christian's credibility constantly by having him turn all the damn time. I think they do this on purpose too because Mr. McMahon likes to toy with Christian's career. I swear he has turned from face to heel to face to heel to face since he returned to WWE. I'm saying if WWE had more respect for Christian as a top guy they would just let him have one REAL run and not this flip flop garbage even if he did his best with those great matches with Orton and with the "ONE MORE MATCH" stuff. Then he went back to grovelling to fans this year.

So the higher ups really thought Orton made the Orton/Christian epic? Not even close. Orton was carried to a good feud by Christian. I don't know why WWE doesn't respect him.

If he can pull off a good IC title run, then thats good enough for me. I think hes right where he belongs right now. The main event may not be great, but its stable. The midcard needs all the help it can get, and Christian is perfect fill that role.

Did you follow Orton closely last year? He had his best in-ring year to date. Christian helped with their feud but Orton was on fire last year.

I wish he was the same cool guy as he was in 2005, but he's corny as f*ck and cuts FCW rookie level promos, as well as wresling like a 60 yr old.

Can't root for this guy anymore.

I won't argue that it was one of Ortons best years in ring, but still, he doesn't seem to be able to pull off a good match unless he has someone to work off of, which is why his feud with Christian was so amazing. Christian can get a good match out of anyone.

I can't agree after seeing how fluidly Orton moves around the ring now. He's just so seamless and methodical, he has come into his own when it comes to knowing how to work a main event match. Cena picked this up a few years ago with his own style. It's not really that hard to see.
