Jericho's retirement will be a sad day in WWE history he is the most badass heel in WWE.

Jesus, he isn't retiring yet. He just knows that he doesn't have alot of time left in his career, that's pretty much common knowledge he is in his late 30s I think. I think that the serious talks will begin in a few years like I said previously, no need to worry Jericho isn't going anywhere right now.

The problem with this is that you run the risk of giving your franchise player too much of an ego and when it comes time for them to put over the next generation, that ego is so bloated, they refuse to do so. (I'm looking in your direction, Hogan.) Nip it in the bud, I say. You let your money men soar high, but not so high that you can't get them back down.

That's why when Miz first came over to Raw a while back and started that feud with Cena, he should have gotten the ppv win. Whether you like the character or not, the bookers saw something in Miz and they shouldn't have been afraid to push the button. A win over Cena at the time would have done wonders for Miz's character and Cena would have bounced back easily. No tarnishing of Cena's character. That's a missed opportunity to build a future star.

Jericho likes the kid and sees his potential. Good enough for me.

The thing is, Miz wasn't a believable threat back then. He was just a former ECW guy who held the tag straps when they were even more meaningless. The crowd wasn't buying into him then, he hadn't accomplished nothing as a singles guy. But having him take a stab at Cena wasn't meant to make him as much as it was just to put the guy on the map and lay the foundation for his character. If they put him over Cena it could have terribly backfired ala Shelton going over HHH or the way Cena came on strongly as a bland babyface against Jericho and Angle and no one would have cared and it would have all been a waste. But after all the promos and matches more people have become aware of the Miz and he's had a decent push up the ladder, winning the US and Tag straps, so now if he does decide to take on Cena again he totally looks like a credible threat, as opposed to a year ago. It really wouldn't have done much and Cena would have taken a slight hit, losing to an unproven guy, but now he is proven and has had success so it would work perfectly now. Slow builds always work, hot shotting an unproven guy doesn't.

If you really think about it with The Miz, he has really came quite a ways since coming to Raw, much like Enzo said, before he was just another former ECW guy that most of us (I'm just being general here) thought was just going to get lost in the shuffle. I think calling out Cena is the biggest reason for that. Without calling Cena out however many times it was I highly doubt he would be where he is at.

Plus, it isn't like Cena squashed Miz in their matches. He put on better matches with Miz with Miz actually getting the upper hand and working on a body part than Cena did with CM Punk.

Selective memory is allowing you to forget that their first match, on PPV, was about 5 minutes and consisted of Cena no-selling everything Miz hit him with.

The only reason Miz got to work the arm in the subsequent match on Raw is because of an attack before the match..... Possibly a chair shot to the arm... Can't recall exactly, but defo something like that.

Chris Jericho Says He Has No Plans to Retire
Date Added: May 20, 2010
Story By: Steve Carrier
- WWE RAW superstar Chris Jericho's band Fozzy did an autograph signing in Canada on Monday to promote their new album Chasing The Grail.

Jericho was interviewed by the Fight Network and said he's at the peak of his wrestling career right now with no plans of retiring or taking time off. Jericho said:

"I never intended on retiring five years ago when I left. I just needed a break and I wanted to come back and be better than I had ever been," Jericho said. "I think the work I've done over the last few years is the best of my career. There's no reason to retire at this point. I'm still enjoying it and I'm in great physical condition. More importantly, I'm in great mental condition. That's the most important thing."

yeah bumping a thread but he brings up something worth to talk about. Is Jericho putting on his best work? What would be his best program? Honestly I can talk about several moments on Raw that was awesome. Introducing himself as a heel his mic work was amazing, the way he played with the crowd hasn't been done for a while. Again before he got kicked off Raw his work with the crowd was the best from anybody. I can't really say for matches because I haven't been watching wrestling as much

I honestly think that Jericho is putting one some of his best work currently. Honestly I am a huge fan of his first Y2J run in 2000 but I can never remember marking so much whenever he comes down to the ring to cut promo, I think he cuts the best promos in the WWE period. I think in his current heel character there aren't very many feuds that haven't been done already, but a feud with Orton imo would be phenomenal, or even a heel/heel feud with The Miz after JeriMiz runs it's course. If he was to turn face again, which I could see happening sometime in a Orton or Austin-esque fan forced turn get into a nice little program with someone like Sheamus.
