WWE wrestler Chris Jericho tells the U.K. Sun that he plans to stay in WWE "a couple more years" to help get over the young talent currently on the roster.

"I think now is the time to stay for a couple of years to help those around me. I want to help the young talent," Jericho told Sun in an interview promoting his "Fozzy" rock group.

WWE and Jericho have obviously targeted U.S. champion The Miz as a young talent for Jericho to give a rub to as Miz develops into a main eventer for WWE.

I don't think that he will be hanging 'em up anytime soon.

You have to understand that his body isn't nearly as beaten up as HBK's was. I am pretty sure that he hasn't had any major injuries over the last 10-15 years like HBK has, could be wrong though. I don't see any serious retirement talks for another 5-6 years tbh.

Honestly though when he does walk away it will effect me much more than HBK's retirement being that I am a huge Jericho fan, not so much a HBK fan.

This is what all of these WWE vet should be doing at this point. HHH, Kane, Taker, Cena. Taker, Cena, Taker

^^Cena doesn't need to put anyone over. He's the franchise. He's the money. You run as far as you can with him before he starts putting people over. See: Austin, Steve and Hogan, Hulk.

As for Jericho, he's been the fucking consummate pro. For a guy of his size, he's had a helluva career and when he hangs it up, not only will a great worker be leaving, but a good person to boot.

I agree totally.
As much as I found Cena uninteresting, I know I'll respect him as a man more, someday when he can prove himself a dedicated worker in the bussiness by putting guys over, the way HHH, Taker, and Jericho, when it's time for somebody else to take over his place and be the new face in the industry.
I always have a tiny dislike for wrestlers when they were being the top guy. HBK, Cena, Hitman, The Rock... you name it and I had hated them. Being in the absolute top means you can't escape being overrated. I'll be guessing when Cena's time passed, I'll regret for having dislike him too.

The problem with this is that you run the risk of giving your franchise player too much of an ego and when it comes time for them to put over the next generation, that ego is so bloated, they refuse to do so. (I'm looking in your direction, Hogan.) Nip it in the bud, I say. You let your money men soar high, but not so high that you can't get them back down.

That's why when Miz first came over to Raw a while back and started that feud with Cena, he should have gotten the ppv win. Whether you like the character or not, the bookers saw something in Miz and they shouldn't have been afraid to push the button. A win over Cena at the time would have done wonders for Miz's character and Cena would have bounced back easily. No tarnishing of Cena's character. That's a missed opportunity to build a future star.

Jericho likes the kid and sees his potential. Good enough for me.

who is gonna learn from Kane anyway?

Why should Undertaker be putting young talent over, He is the unstoppable force within WWE and you can't tanish that.

Cena put over sheamus back in December and i agree what Enzo said. I don't like Cena. But he is better than Batista being promoted as #1 guy.

didn't HHH just put sheamus over last PPV?(obviously you think sheamus isn't young talent!) (as well make Cody Rhodes/Ted Dibiase look good last year, along with him and HBK losing there belts to The Miz/Big show.)

^^^Never know, they may have a face Miz dethrone Jericho for the WHC (for example).

Bullshit! If that's putting someone over, the next gen are in t.r.o.u.b.l.e.

@ Mizmaster & anyone else that holds a similar opinion: What the fuck will it take for peeps to see that HHH DOES put people over.... In fact he's the only person to have successfully done so in recent years (Jeff, Seamus, Ted & Cody and before them playing a huge part in building Cena & Batista)... Hell, he was even prepared to give Hornswaggle a rub.

Kane has been useless for 7 years. It's time to go.

I want Jericho to stick around but there isn't much left for him to do. A wrestler that stay healthy can have a career into their late-40's. The last frontier would be a feud with Undie but since he wins every feud that's not the proper way for Jericho to go out.
