Chris Jericho in discussion for a return for Wrestlemania

– Colleagues of Chris Jericho say he is in talks with WWE officials to return to the organization for a match leading to WrestleMania.

Thoughts on this?

Please let it be CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho.

It wouldn't surprise me if he returned in the Royal Rumble match this year. He can return and eliminate CM Punk to set up a feud with him leading to a match at WrestleMania. I agree that Punk would be the best choice.

Would make a hell lot of sense with the 'Best in the World' catchphrase being tossed around.

They have traded back and forth on Twitter for some time and like you said battling over the Best In The World tag would be good. The promos between these two would be top class and their match would be a classic.

Imagine if it was for the WWE Championship.

There you have the best fucking Wrestlemania possible.

Who will Del Rio face? Book him in a feud with Sin Cara or someone else, not that hard

I think that this match is big enough that they don't need the title. I have no idea where WWE are going with the WWE title though so it is tough to predict but imagine the card if this is simply a non-title match. You would have:

The Rock vs. John Cena
Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
Undertaker vs. ???
World title match
WWE title match
Plus some midcard matches.

That is five strong matches and would make for a stacked PPV.

CM vs Jericho for the WWE title would be great imho.

Then you got WHC which will have Bryan on it somehow...

I say bring back MITB to WM.

I would have Henry vs. Sheamus for the World title. Not sure what I would do with Bryan, ask me again in three months

Have him lose the briefcase to Wade Barrett and book Orton vs. Barrett at WM.

Seems premature for this thread not because Wrestlemania is so far away but because we get this rumor of him returning every two months.

As WrestleMania nears it becomes more realistic that Jericho will indeed make his return so these rumours gain a bit of respectability.

Yeah wouldn't read to much into it but would love him to be a surprise entrant in the Rumble, anyone know if they are keeping that at 40 or going back to 30?

Well it will be the 25th Royal Rumble so they will probably keep it at 40 but I hope they go back to 30 and have more than three other matches.

Jericho returning at the Rumble is the perfect way to get him back on television and WWE always like to have one or two surprise entrants at the Rumble.
