I feel like WWE just don't want to take partially blame and that is why they cover it up. They need to be open and honest. This should be a tool to help people understand the dangers of wrestling and severe head trauma that can come with any sport. Enough years have passed and I don't get why they are still ignoring it.

I think you're completely right. Before this happened, they had ZERO problem with unprotected chair shots to the head. It's easier for them to say "He was an evil murderer" than "Our business practices contributed to this." They'll always ignore it though. However, they have lately found other non Benoit reasons to address the situation.

Even to this day I am still shocked with the events that took place during that dreadful time. Still remember tuning in that night to watch RAW anticipating how the Vince angle would play out (for those that don't know or may not remember, the week before the show went off the air showing Vince walking into his limo which exploded) but instead I see the "in memory of Chris Benoit" and my jaw just dropped.

It goes without saying that WWE were forced to scrap that storyline and Vince himself opened the programme with a few words on the incident, noting of course that there would be no show that night but a tribute to Benoit instead. Of course, as we all know, a few days later, when details started to surface shit hit that fan and, well, the rest is history...

I'm in total agreance with Jacob Fox on the matter. There's absolutely no doubt that his actions were unthinkable however the circumstances under how all this occoured are still blurry. Quite frankly, we will never know for sure but between all those head bumps (whether chair shots or one of his famous finishing head buts), alleged steroid use and whatever other addiction there may have been to pain killers, well, it's not hard to understand that his mind was not in the right state....

His Wrestlemania moment was by far one of the most memorable moments of all time, as was the visual of the celebration afterwards with Eddie. Really heartbreaking when rewatching but that's really the image I'd like to remember...

That is certainly a start but they should say something about Benoit. It has been 10 years.

I agree but they won't and the reason behind it is that they KNOW that they encouraged the unprotected head shots. They KNOW that they encouraged the steroids. They KNOW this is partially their fault. So they will never acknowledge it in relation to Benoit. They will find round about ways to do it instead.

That being said, once the old man retires and HHH is running the show, you might see it get covered.

WWE stock would plummet and Vince McMahon would go bankrupt and the only person who would stand by his side would be the most unscrupulous human on the planet.. his bff Donald Trump

Chris Benoit return w/ Trump as his manager would be the best thing ever. True heel shit lol

The final days of Benoit's life (probably the entire last 5-10 years of it tbf) were awful and how his life and the lives of his family ended is a tragedy. But it shouldn't be something we as fans, or the WWE as an entity, shy away from discussing.

It's similar to the old saying of he who doesn't learn from history is bound to repeat it. If we do not acknowledge and discuss and learn from what happened to Chris, Nancy and Daniel. Odds are it will happen again.

I can't remember whether it was pain pills or what. but they say his brain was "ate up" I remember. Then he laid Bibles down where his family was and after killing them killed himself. The last few years of his life I know nothing about. Someone who would do this couldn't be right.

On a spiritual level I believe he was batling his own demons. Not only that, I also believe it was also the damaging headbutts he did in the ring, too.
What he did to his family is wrong and I Dnt wish that upon anyone else. Whatever happened wether in ring or outside Made him snap. :emoji_slight_frown: The Question we will NEVER know is Why and What made him do such a terrible thing. Now he gets to spend an eternity in Hell.

Well if it is spirtuality you refer to, an "eternity in hell" is rather questionable. With the brain of an 85 yo alzheimer patient, full knowledge and consent to sin; is quite questionable. With dementia like that, do you have full knowledge of a thing for a "sin unto death".
