I was in an awful relationship and didn't leave because I had nowhere to go

@baseballmm, Her religion is important to her... but they recently quit attending church.. so yeah, she was getting upset at not being able to go anymore.

I'm scared for her.. when they pass away or get divorced or whatever else... she's going to be completely lost.

She is a prime example of someone who was VERY sheltered. You can tell by the way she communicates on here with people. Not to be mean, but she was like a child in a lot of ways and that is the result of parents being too controlling. She never got the chance to become an adult and likely never will because of them.

I'm a Christian and that is no way to raise a child, even I can see that. Her mother seems like a west baptist nutcase

that's sort of the silver lining of what happened to me. horrible abusive childhood, but I became independent from a very young age
