Charlotte Flair said in a recent interview that she's taking time away from WWE to deal with "something."
The 14-time World Champion did not elaborate on what exactly she is dealing with but spoke to
The Boardroom about her injuries over the last year being a "blessing and a curse."
Flair said:
For me, I went from having never any off-days to getting injured last year after WrestleMania and being off for seven months, and then now off again for a couple weeks for something that I needed to take care of, so it’s a blessing and a curse.
Like, no one wants to be injured, but having that first time off for that extended amount of time, I think was definitely healthy for my mindset.
Flair hasn't wrestled since the first night of WrestleMania 39 on April 1, 2023.
After losing the SmackDown Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey at Backlash last year, Flair took several months off from WWE. It was first
reported that she was taking time away to get married and then later that
dental surgeries delayed her return to the ring.
Flair was gone from May 8, 2022, until returning on the December 30, 2022, edition of SmackDown, where she regained her title from Rousey. She then worked a regular schedule up until dropping the belt to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. Shortly after Mania, it was
reported that Flair informed WWE she would be taking more time off.
