Plot Summary: Captain Charles Boone , who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher's Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea.

I just watched the whole season and I was surprised by how well they caught the atmosphere of the short story. I was skeptical when I saw that they made 10 episodes of 50 minutes out of a text that is 40 pages long but most of the added/new stuff was good (mainly secondary characters). The short story is a correspondence between two people and it's basically just mail so they had to take a lot of liberties with the plot.

They could have never made something really faithful to the source with this format and I understand all the changes they made, although the ending was weak compared to the spectacular last chapter of the book.
