Following the success of the "Global Impact" special, there has reportedly been a shift within TNA to move the booking in a direction that is more serious focusing on competition and athletic personalities. Whether or not it will happen remains to be seen.

Oh God, please let this happen. And fuck the success of Global iMPACT, just listen to what everyone is saying, and you could figure out that we want more serious competition and athletic personalities, and not the 75% comic bullshit that we continue to see week after week.

^Agreed. I don't really watch TNA, but when I do watch it I'm usually not overally impressed with their booking/creative. I think a more serious approach would be beneficial, change is usually a good thing it helps keep things fresh.

I agree, lets hope they take note of this. When booker T gave the more serious promo last week it was ten times better than any of the other comical stuff.

Global Impact had a very nice mix of serious and kayfabe.

More (as in the number of) serious promos and storylines would definately be a plus, but let's not pretend like some of those Kurt Angle segments weren't amusing. "Are you starin' at my package?" "Well if you did your wifely duty he wouldn't have to do this!" "I'LL BUY YOU POOORRRN! I'LL BUY YOU POOOOOORRRRRRN!!!" There should definately be less of them, but that doesn't mean they aren't funny.

I wasn't disrespecting your opinion Roxxi, Just giving mine. So I'd prefer it if you didn't make assumptions about the root of my opinions. I'm not somebody who follows trends.

I guess i'm just able to give my true opinions rather than just repeat what everyone else says so nobody says mean things to me. :)

I don't repeat what everybody else says and I never repeat anything that comes out of your dumbass mouth. You can say mean shit to me all you want, knock yourself out. Just cuz your opinions are 99% fucking Blue and pretty much everyone calls you out them doesn't mean that I'm just repeating them. It means that your an idiot and there's probably a reason why everyone disagrees with you.

Personally I don't find and of the Angle stuff funny. The telling tale was one of the hosts of Live Audio Wrestling had some friends over and they were watching Pros vs. Joes debut with Kurt Angle. None of his friends are wrestling fans and couldn't believe how good Angle was at the trash talk and what not. So he then decided to show them a tape of how Angle is booked on TNA, and they couldn't believe it. The point is the main events shouldn't be complete humor all the time and thats what its been with Kurt Angle. If you want to attract the non fan to make them a fan, you need to draw them in, and make them believe that these people really hate eachother and want to kill eachother.

This is why the Robert Roode vs. Booker T fued is the most over right now. It was so well set up. The promos have been awesome and you can truely feel that Booker T. is going to try and rip Roode limb from limb. The problem is Russo got lucky. People tuned in droves after Global Impact to the following weeks Impact and got treated to the lamest unfunniest Shark Boy segments the whole show with him laying in bed at home. And the ratings were among the highest it had ever been. So Russo takes that and says, obviously the fans want more stupid humor and comedy and less seriousness. What I find so hypocritical about Russo is back long before his booker days even in the WWE he was a coloum writer for the WWE Magazine. I remember him ripping on WCW claming that all there ideas were lame and rip offs. Comparing WCW naming Earthquake, Avalanche and saying it really wasn't all that creatively different, and that all that comedy would never fly in pro wrestling as those days were over. However as soon as he went to WCW he had charcters that were simalar plays on WWE charcters. And now in TNA he's booking Lethal as Savage (which has only lasted well because of how well he does the voice and all) Shark Boy as Austin & Petey Williams as the Narsissit. All in all he's doing the very things he said would never fly in wrestling and claims it to be sucsessful.

Tbh, I find Petey's and Sharkboy's (although useless) funny, especially Petey, who I think is playing off well trying to mimic Steiner. As for Jay Lethal, I personally think that gimmick is terrible and boring/stale as fuck.

^I don't really follow this whole thing and I have only seen that stupid shark thing once and thought it was pretty Blue. But doesn't taking all these shots at WWE make them look like they're too concerned with the WWE? Personally I think if they want to be original and be a "better" alternative to the WWE, which I believe is their claim, it would make more sense to do their own things. I would disregard the WWE and just make everything original and I think that would make them look better. Try beating the WWE by just being better or doing different things, not taking shots or concering themselves with what the WWE has or is doing and just worry about themselves. Making jokes and stupid things like that seems like saying we can't beat them so we're just going to make jokes about them. Just my opinion though.
