After a wild road to get to this point, former WWE champion Dave Bautista—or Batista as he was called in the wrestling industry—will finally make his mixed martial arts debut on Saturday night against veteran Vince Lucero at CES MMA 14: Real Pain.

The fight was originally scheduled to see Batista face Rashid Evans, but Evans was arrested for a parole violation less than a week before the matchup.

With such short notice, the best the promoter could find for the main event was the 22-22 Lucero.
If the fight wasn’t going to be easy for the 43-year-old rookie before, the addition of journeyman Lucero certainly should make for an exciting finish now.

Batista revealed in media interviews this week that he will be accompanied to the cage by former WWE Superstar MVP. Batista added that he has received a lot of support from friends in WWE and TNA as he prepared to make his MMA debut.

Where: Dunkin' Donuts Center, Providence, RI

When: Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 9 p.m. ET

Watch: On DIRECTV PPV

I knew his first opponent Rashad Evans... Then I read again and it said Rashid Evans and I was lost again.

UFC hasn't been doing so well this year.

I play the videos don't get me wrong. But I don't know hardly any of the fighters so I don't know what to expect or what. :lol1:

You have to expect a mixed martial arts fight. :dawg:

But I know nothing about it, Who's the better fighter, what's his backstory, is he any good?

I don't even know how they determine who fights for the title. :lol1:

To be honest, I'm not to sure myself.

I'm going to guess on how much big of a draw but especially win/loss record.

Ah okay, I guess I'll have to read up on it and maybe get into the sport.
