Big Man's points about Lethal flip flopping is definitely a consideration. He did similar around voting Poyser. Outright refused to vote CP and went Big Man instead.

I dont really agree with that I think it looked better for Jeff and Big Man could easily have just been softening the blow of losing Poyser. Unless i'm missing a piece somewhere

The usage doesn't line up unless I'm missing something.
The wording from Cp as well makes it sound like he knows Alucard is the watcher.

Jeff matching that character to that role for a fake doesn't seem likely
