Hey again wrestling fans...I hope you are living bliss right now..

So as you can tell by the title...I'm here again to pick
your collective brains and find out some information.

So...What can you tell me about: Maryse

MLboIf1V-600x400.jpg

Now having been away from wrestling for 10+ years I missed out on
a lot and there is like an entire era of female performers that I have
never seen wrestle.

The lovely Maryse is one of these performers that I have never seen
wrestle in any capacity.

Now the woman always looks fantastic (I love the Lady GaGa-like outfits
she wears) and she has an infinity for animals (as seen on Total Divas)
which is a very endearing quality...but...my big question is that with the
rumored Wrestlemania mixed tag match with her teaming with her husband
The Miz to take on the WWE power couple John Cena & Nikki Bella...Well...
what's Maryse like in the ring?

I know she's a former Divas Champion...but I'm not sure how much that belt
actually stood for until the Demon Pixie A.J Lee got her hands on it.

I'd very much like to get the general opinions, thoughts and memories of the
in-ring style of "The Sexiest of Sexy" (That's a great nickname)

Thanks again for your time...and I'll see you all around the traps.

I don't remember a lot about her either, but I do know that before Nikki Bella (301) and before AJ Lee (295) Maryse had the longest reign as Divas champ clocking in at 216 days. That reign of hers was the longest reigin for over 4 years until AJ broke it. Maryse in total held the Divas title 2 times with the other time being for 49 days.

Personally, I thought she was an awful wrestler who had no business holding any belt... even the "Diva's" championship, which had less to do with wrestling and more to do with looks and attitude. Still, I recall not liking her at all.

Maryse came into the company through the Divas Search. A yearly reality TV show they did as part of Smackdown looking for new women. Basically a beauty contest. She came in knowing almost nothing about wrestling and speaking limited English since she is French Canadian. But she decided to give it a fair go and became a decent (Great by that generations standards) womens wrestler and got better at English so she also became a good promo.

I'd say she is a overall solid talent. Maybe not amazing at anything, but not bad either. Solid midpiece to any womens division.

Sounds positive...at least she was willing to put the work in...

Could she compete with the current female performers? Like say Charlotte, Sasha or Becky?

No. They are wrestlers who trained to be wrestlers and grew up wanting to be athletes and excel in that field.

She is a model that was thrown into a 'sport' and did whatever she could to manage things.

I reckon the gulf is too big.

On the mic though, she can go toe to toe it seems with all of them.

Eh, my opinion on the subject really isn't that important so maybe only count it as half a strike. I admittedly have a bias against the "Divas" era of women wrestling. During that time, I really disliked women's wrestling in WWE. I mostly watched the TNA Knockouts and several of the indie women promotions. I particularly have enjoyed Shine, which is the first promotion that exposed me to Ivelisse. But yeah, my opinion of the Diva's division after Lita and Trish Stratus retired has always been sort of tainted.

I, of course, love the women's division now.

Yes. Without a shadow of a doubt.

While not as athletically gifted as those women. She has the experience level and ring smarts to be a good base to work with. Heck. I'm willing to bet she has tons more ring smarts than Sasha

She has that beautiful accent...that's why she sounds so good on the mic...

Hey...your opinion isn't less valid than others...I post these threads to learn from fans who have more
experience and knowledge than I do. I read every post with an open mind and just try to get a general
opinion based on the group.

Hell I owe you guys big for the feedback in the Lucha Underground thread...hence I'm now currently
watching season 1 and loving it (and not just Sexy Star...I'm enjoying all aspects of the show...lol)

Wow...that's a ringing endorsement...

I'm just curious if Maryse would be a good addition to the SmackDown Women's roster on
a full time bias...but...I think her & the Miz are set financially...so I doubt she'll want to "take
the bumps" considering she doesn't really have to anymore.

I could honestly see her and the Miz being "lifers" for the WWE with the Miz moving into announcing
after he retires from in-ring action and Maryse possibly taking up a hosting/panel position.

Okay...so she posed for Playboy...I had no idea until like just this minute...
Now I understand all that heat the Miz gets...its jealousy...lol

Kind of off topic, sort of... maybe?
I don't many guys who say she is HAWT.. Most say she is okay/decent looking...
I think she would look better without the big fake bewbs and does look better without make-up or just light make-up. Heavy make-up tends to make women look... weird. *looks at Eva Marie*

Fake bewbs give me the heebie-jeebies... :cat:

Its okay Snake...your husband owns/runs the joint...you'll be fine...

Really? Well...I mean someone like Charlotte or Alexa is more attractive to me...
but Maryse does have a certain level of "sexy" I think a lot of it comes from her
clothing and accent.

I think it all depends on personal taste...

My favorite type of women are tall amazon-like athletes...but I think all the
ladies on the WWE roster are beautiful in there own way.

"Heavy Make-up" is interesting because when done right it can give a performer
a very unique look...has anyone noticed that Eva Marie kind of looks like an anime
character? I think that was the idea...Unnatural red hair, large breasts, tanned skin...
There is something "strange" about Eva's look...but...its "Sexy Strange"

Of course this coming from a guy who also finds Rosemary from TNA "Sexy Strange"
and who thinks Sexy Star looks more beautiful with her mask on.

"fake bewbs" is another topic altogether...

I personally don't believe in the term "Fake Breasts" I think a better term is "enhanced"
and once a woman is enhanced it becomes a part of them...kind of like me with the
multiple facial piercings I have.

At the the end of the day...its a woman's own choice if she wishes to "enhance" her
bust line and thankfully the WWE isn't "making" their female performers go through with that.
Fake bewbs give me the heebie-jeebies...
So...no chance of you getting an "upgrade" for your husband then?

:p

Yeah I guess it is personal change, I just think women should embrace natural beauty vs covering it up with "fake" stuff.
And he feels the same as I do about fake bewbs so no chance... Not that I would either way. I am happy with what I have lol
