On RAW and SmackDown! we have some personal feuds, and some meaningful chases for the belt. But on ECW, it's just Matt Hardy is champion, and the number one contender wins something like a fatal four way to get a shot. He has no problem with the current champion, he just wants the belt. There's never any blood, and never anything personal. They just go out, have thier match, and maybe attack each other after matches for a few weeks.

Why can't we have a personal feud? I know ECW is geared towards wrestling rather than talking, but is it really too much to ask to build a feud that creates interest? It can't be that hard.

Thoughts?

Mike Knox v Finlay?
Dreamer v Delaney?
Long 'v' Estrada?

To be fair they do have them, but considering they get an hour (less adverts) and virtually no PPV time it's not hard to understand why they don't do more storylines.

ECW always have low profile feuds due to the time slot they get and the superstars they have in the roster.

ECW used to be having an ECW champ that would have squash matches over and over (Since Big Show won it couple of years or so ago, then passing it to Henry to continue the trend).
ECW had a very unfortunate occassion (Bourne's injury) that they finally found a good feud to get it started (Bourne/Matt). Which actually reminds me of CM Punk's ECW chase to title thing.

I would assume that ECW would concentrate on the tag team divisions as they have alot of stuff going on in that category. Leaving the big feuds for a single title for SD! and Raw only.

Yes, Dreamer vs Swagger is real personal, as are the other ten billion feuds Dreamer has with rookies.

Granted, Swagger gave a good promo, but this still isn't a personal feud. It takes more than bagging someone's family to make a feud personal.

The only one of those three that could have been made actually interesting and personal was Delaney vs Dreamer, but WWE released him.

I've been begging for WWE to do this for longer than I can remember. They do the same thing with the Divas, its a basic formula that I'm sick and tired of. I want to see REAL feuds, I want to see stories told, I want to be able to actually look forward to the matches. WWE just sticks two guys together and they expect us to care, I wish they can start a feud the right way. Tell us WHY wrestler A hates wrestler B, add some twists and turns into the feud. It almost always results in success (HBK/Jericho).
