The company has done fine with Orton being the champion and top guy since August, so I don't see the issue with him remaining in that spot for a few more months. It's not like his match at Mania will be the headline match of the card anyway, as whatever match HHH is involved in (against either Cena, Punk or Bryan, while the other two face off with Orton in a triple threat unless HBK does come back to fight Bryan, at which point it'll likely be what Jonathan said) will obviously take precedence over what Orton is doing.

Obviously, the endgame to this whole thing is Orton remaining champion till Mania. And after getting his biggest kayfabe win ever (and cleanly, I might add), there would be zero point to him dropping the title before then.

Think last night sort of confirmed Punk (RR winner) v Orton (C) for Mania. Meh.

I was surprised that Orton won last night and was expecting Cena to win. The way they kept focusing in on Cena's reaction to the authority coming out to congratulate Orton has me speculating that there will be a rematch at the next PPV where Cena will ultimately win. It's only a matter of time before Cena is more involved in the storyline with the superstars that oppose the authority and its vision for the company.

if the Authority's vision is to change the WWE for the better and Cena represents what they are trying to change away from and he is fighting to keep it the same, wouldn't that make the authority face and Cena heel in a way

I think Punk or D-Bry will win the RR and face Orton at WM

I think that would depend on what they're trying to change it to, but yeah you make a great point.

Bryan/Orton has no chance of happening as they have already done it like 6 times this year. It happened on last week's SD ffs!

Bryan is well out of the title picture now after losing clean in that manner to the Wyatts.

Well from my perspective and many people's POV the way WWe has been with Cena on top is pretty dull so I would be willing to see what the Authority has in mind because it can't be much worse

Yup. Punk is viewed as the bigger player by WWe even though DB is more over

I really don't know. My Magic 8 ball even said "Ask again later". The jury's out.
